Instead of using a USB stick I simply used my xbox memory card plugged into a standard xbox controller plugged into my PC using a USB adaptor. The PC recognised that a controller was inserted, then recognised that there were 2 additional ports and installed the drivers for them. I plugged my memory card into the controller, booted up Action Replay and copied the file to the memory card.

So finally I managed to solve the problem myself. There's a programm called Xplorer360, mainly for Xbox360, but you can read FATX partioned Usb sticks as well and insert data.
