It's been a really long time since i've used mine so my memory is a little hazy, but I think they just use standard floppy drives inside. I think if it's really stuck in there good, you can open it up and replace the floppy drive.

Ah, a floppy is jammed in there? I guess that's why you got it so cheap?

I never had the pleasure to open one up before, but I would assume the floppy drive is a stand alone part. It almost looks like they used a regular old floppy drive and mounted it in there case. If you open it up, the ribbon cable will give it away. I would say you should be able to replace it.

But I would try to unjam it first. I would try to remove the floppy drive, then open it up and get the jammed disc out. While you got it apart, take note what kind of floppy drive it is, if it's standard or not (take pics and posts them here if you're not sure).

Or on second thought, you might just want to replace it. If you plan on using it yourself, that is. You don't wanna mess around with old, dirty floppies and whatnot. If it's a standard drive, get a brand new floppy drive and some brand new floppies to use.

But if you plan on selling it and don't care, then you might just wanna try unjamming it to save money.

Well that game is 8Mbit so it'd fit on one floppy. Did you try loading it? Or do you not have a power adapter yet?

If you wanna keep and use this SF3, you could get a USB floppy drive for dirt cheap (if you don't already have a floppy drive)

If you looks at the SF3 on the Tototek website, it'll tell you what power plug you need...

Please notice that it need 9V DC Power supply. (Not included)
(You can use Genesis/SFC/PCE power supply)
Power supply plug, outside is + (positive).

And I'm not sure if the SF3 is capable, might have just been the SF6 and 7, but there's a CD add on for it so you don't have to use floppies. The CD add on is extremely rare though, I've never seen if for sale before. Hell, it's even hard to find pictures of it. Another thing, and again I don't know if the SF3 can, but I remember reading about hooking the backup unit up to a PC with a parallel cable to load games instead of a floppy disk.

If you use this and don't have a PC with a floppy drive and don't mine mounting one in your PC, I have some in my parts pile. I'll send a drive and cable for whatever shipping is.

Maybe just carefully taking apart the floppy drive, clean and hand turn the motor a little (to free up moving parts) would do trick.

my only pc is a laptop. ill prolly never use it now that i know its limitations. that cd drive however...NICE! thanks for all the info guys. i really didnt know anything about this thing when i bought it, it just looked cool.
