everyone is screaming at Sega to release Shenmue 3,
yet sales are embarrassing. How can that be?
Because it's not "everyone" who's screaming, just the scant Shenmue fans. They happen to be loud.
Truer words have never been spoken.

Shenmue is great game and it would be nice if there was a next gen version but I can't see it happening. The hardcore Shenmue fans alone wouldn't justify the costs in adding another chapter to the Shenmue series, especially after the first two from a financial standpoint were failures. As hardcore gamers, yes we appreciate games as art and want to have new interactive experiences but at the end of the day video games are business. And if the first two games in a series haven't generated much in sales, chances are a third wouldn't either which is why I don't see Shenmue III ever happening.

I would appreciate something to help tie up the story. A manga, anime, or even a cheap game. Just something that ties it all up nicely.

they can release $70 shenmue, then 10 downloadable content each for $15 . THen you can buy stuff online for $5 , then they can make an online subscription based gaming for $15 .
I bet they would get that $70 million back.
...and spend real money/points to play lucky hit!
