They quoted a good price so I'm probably going to pick up the gun later today. Nothing to play with it, though. I just killed 4 discs trying to get a Nero image of Virtua Cop 2 for the Dreamcast to burn. *shrug*

Alright, I got the BIO gun. It's built well enough. Solid construction and the paint is roughly the same color as the Dreamcast. The gun is shaped almost exactly like the Sega Saturn Stunner.

The gun was a mess and I had to clean it for an hour with Hobie E-laughing at me the entire time.

Well, the gun is adequate but that's about it. It looks cool but it's not very accurate. I would go as far to say it is one of the least accurate light guns I have ever used. To the gun's credit - the lens was scratched up quite a bit. I'm going to look around for a replacement lens from another dead light gun. Hopefully this will help the accuracy. It is also the only gun I own that requires me to jack the brightness level up for it to register.

The gun has the obligatory 3rd party light gun auto fire option. The switch is in a nifty place - next to your thumb (if holding right handed) just like a safety release. Too bad the cool factor is nullified by the location of the Dpad. Honestly, why the hell would you want the Dreamcast gun Dpad in the same location as the old Guncon's duck button? Sega and Namco got it right with their respective guns - the Dpad needs to be on the back of the gun, next to your thumb.

So all-in-all it was an ok purchase. I only paid around $15 for it.

I could always cut the cable and run around like a lunatic with it.

I was reading the Wiki, about your lightgun. Seems to be only gun that can be used for the game Silent Scope, well somewhat you would use the direction pad to move scope.

Still you got a rare gun ....................

The Interact Star Fire Lightblaster is the best Dreamcast gun. It works great, at least as well as the Saturn Stunner which I also like very much.

I have two of theStar Fire Lightguns too. With a Mad Catz vibration pack the Lightguns really kick. Never tried Mad Catz or Bio gun but I do like the response of the Interact Lightguns, well at least until I upgraded to HD CRT. Now Lightguns are regulated to CRT Computer Monitor. At least until I find out if a VGA - Component transcoder will work.

I got Sega Smash Pack Vol. 1 today. Surprisingly, the BIO Gun is quite a bit more accurate when playing the version of Virtua Cop 2 contained in the collection.

Strange how it works on only certain games.
I don't know or think Virtual Cop is in a lower resolution.
Something to do with graphics on screen or calibration?

Well at least Light Gun works, Congrats!

I think you're right about it having to do with the calibration. HOTD2 requires a 3 point calibration. Virtua Cop 2 only requires a single, center screen calibration. I just tried out Confidential Mission and it requires the same 3 point calibration... accuracy is similar to HOTD2.
