This doesn't surprise me. There is a law in the US that requires electronics manufactures to back stock replacement parts for specific electronic devices such as computers and other complex gadgetry for a period of 7 years (maybe longer, I'm fuzzy on this). There are many instances where the 7 years comes and goes and the manufacture is left with warehouses full of repair parts. Companies will usually recycle the materials (when possible) or blow out stock at discount prices.
For a long time Sega would send Dreamcast replacement parts to customers upon request.
I think it was like seven for portables and like 10-14 for the home end of things.
Most companies simply skirt this by saying that they can no longer source parts for certain items after about five years, though, but with the Slim PSone's massive near 40 million install base they can't really skirt it even if they tried.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

well the real reason you dont see any homebrew disc based games for the ps1 is because the checksum is in the disc good luck getting a machine that will press the disc so you can write a game on it. it sounds like a great idea but it will not happen. at least not by any underground homebrews .
Nice to see a new game for the DreamCast, but just saw the video - they should have used the Quake 3 engine not the Doom one. Graphically, the game sucks. I can't see it selling.

I'm going to buy it, I liked the first one and want to play number 2. It doesnt look that good, but the story will hopefully make up for that

Hell yes.
Sega should at least re-market some standard controllers. God damn. I was looking around and found out that you can get a Virtua Stick for significantly cheaper than you can a standard Saturn controller. WHY IS SOMETHING AS BASIC AS A D-PAD AND BUTTONS GOING FOR THIS MUCH!?!
Systems: SNES, PS1, GBA SP, Gamecube, DS Lite, Wii, PS3 (Fully Backwards Compatible), Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, a Sega CD, and a Sega Saturn.

Man, this just reminds me how happy I was to get some controllers with my Saturn. I'm also reminded of how pissed at myself that I sold two of those controllers and the Right Trigger on my NiGHTS 3D controller is broked. (anyone know how to fix that?)

It's on real PS1 Black Disc CD-ROM's works on any PlayStation ever created and requires a PS1 Memory Card. Literally a re-pressing from the ground up.
Now if only Sony would make a dedicated graphically better PS2 version and keep all original music and voices. I have the Gamecube Twin Snakes in itself a great re-make but disappointed that original music and accented voices were lost. The Bleemed version of Original PS1 Metal Gear Solid to me seems the best.
