I cannot stand Access, I did an IT course after leaving school, and they forced us to use Access to make some kind of application. IE some sort of stock/frontend for a store or something like that. At the time I was coding websites using PHP and MySQL, so I was pretty good at using SQL. Luckily Access can understand SQL. So I completely sacked the entire program off, and just did it all manually in SQL. It was the only way I could get it to do what I wanted it to do (a fully integrated stock management system with a shop front end with multiple user levels) Unfortunately, despite Access understanding SQL, my tutor didn't. I got 0 for the project because I didn't use the completely useless and utter bollocks Access tools. After getting another 0 for a project I did in the web design module because I coded it entirely in PHP and they wanted it to be done in dreamweaver requiring 0 skill I decided to tell the course leader to go fuck herself and never went back. Biggest waste of a year in my entire life. What a joke.

Unless you really think you'll be using it after you're done with school just pirate it. There's no good reason to be buying expensive programs like that as a student if you only need it for one class.

I just bought a copy of Outlook 2007 Standard edition for $137 from www.outletdeal.com.
I'll report back in a week or two if there are any issues. If there are, my credit card company will be hearing from me.

According to the rep that I chatted with over IM, it's the full version, retail, new-in-box. No passing off an academic copy as retail.

I bought it for my church since I'm setting up a buying/setting up a new computer for the admin. Dell wanted $399 for it. Ridiculous.

I'd say the cheapest version would be FREE, downloaded from the internet.

Don't be a puss. Your stealing from M$, the corporate monopoly that must be tamed.

So, why are you taking such an awful class in the first place?

I have to for my associates in computer science - information technology.

This semester I am taking...

Intergrated computer applications
English comp II
Green technology(elective that was still open and sounded interesting)
Information security
