those CPS3 games look delishous but maybe i i could drop a few frames for some more badass games, like a run and gun or stupidly unbalanced fighters like waku waku 7
Edit: i take that back, neogeo is still the unbeaten of god animation(just played Garou - Mark of the Wolves)

Guilty Gear and BlazBlue; the animation looks positively lifelike.

Guilty Gear X was a great looking 2D fighter.

Eh, Guilty Gear and BlazBlue have great sprites, but the animation isn't anything special. Honestly, there are CPS2 games out there with better animation than Arc System Works fighters.
Very surprised to see no mention of Princess Crown, Odin Sphere or Oboro Muramasa.

I dunno how far along PS2 emulation is, and even if your PS2 emulation is great, Odin Sphere had quite a lot of slowdown issues. In fact, I wasn't nearly as big a fan as almost everyone else I knew.
Still, it's worth a look. I managed to pick it up for $10, and I've paid more than that for mediocre art books.

Out of this World, not so much.
Also, check out the rebirth series.

Which version of "Out of this World" did you play? I think they varied a little bit by platform, but I know the PC version was very smooth. There wasn't always a whole lot going on onscreen at once, but all very smooth.Luke wrote:

I have played the PC version, when Electronics Boutique used to have a playable PC in their stores, and I do remember it being smoother. It's just difficult to play OoTW after playing Flashback. True, the cut-scenes are fairly rough, but the gameplay still holds up as awesome. After I finish up Alien 3 for the umpteenth time, I'm playing Flashback.
