I haven't changed at all. I am always in favor of doing the right thing. Two loving people who plan and prepare to raise children together and then raise their kids as their top priority are good parents. Having children for selfish reasons is wrong because the kids end up suffering.

Basically, I just hate to see harmful things being done to anyone, child or adult.
I think we're all just far too used to your various tirades against things like marriage.

Actually, I could probably go on an anti-marriage rant myself, but some people just seem built for the married with kids life. More power to them I guess. I never understood the whole prove your love thing, which is what marriage really is

And let's face it, marriage is really for the ladies. Most men don't care while women spend their whole lives thinking about it. What do we get out of it? As Patton Oswalt once said, they get a nice expensive ring for the engagement. We don't get squat. The whole thing is ALL about the ladies. We get forced into it. I could never have kids either. Seriously, where I work I basically see people every day who pretty much have NO life at all because they are raising kids. Not worth it in my opinion. To quote a previous post, "Sell baby. Buy more games"

Just kidding of course.

I don't want to have kids either. Same reasoning as you. It would completely ruin my life and I don't want that to happen. Sometimes I think it would be kinda nice to be able to raise an open minded child who is able to think for himself. But unfortunately, those who are smart enough to think things through before making decisions are the least likely people to have children. Generally speaking, the dumber someone is, the more children they have.

Yeah, you guys won't be happy with reading this and I don't like how it works myself but that's how it goes.

In my previous workplace, most of my coworkers were young parents as well and dedicate pretty much all their time to their kids. But I can see joy in that and I see they love every minute of it. I'm indifferent about kids. If I have them, my life would probably be occupied by them. If I don't, I don't mind much. But seeing a good parent makes me smile. :D

That is only true in VERY general terms. The correlation is weak and I'm guessing you're referring to having kids in a 1st world country.

You know the funny thing with kids the way you try to raise them isn't always how they end up. He might come to resent your so called open mindedness and decide to be close minded to spite you and religious. The reason you don't want kids is because you are selfish and nothing more. You're right you shouldn't have kids with the way you think.

This person from the story wasn't planning on having a child either but he's dealing with it the best way he can. What would you do if you had a child not meaning to? You say your life would be ruined but how will you ever know. Yes I am sure your life will change but I seriously doubt after your child has grown up you would really look at your life since his birth with regret wishing you never had a child.

I don't want kids right now either but I am not going to talk down to others who make that choice or have to deal with it. I don't know what your parents were thinking having you ruining there life and all.

My Dad must be really dumb because he had 5 kids. If everybody thought like you the "smart people", how smart would they be letting the human race die out because children would ruin there life.

I don't know what happened in your life to make you so closed minded but I hope one day your mind is truely opened where can see every side of every thing. When you can argue for something you don't believe in, then I will think you are open minded.

Wow man... I'll be totally honest here; you're a condescending ass.

I would pay the child support I was required to pay, and do nothing more. I would flat out refuse to ever see the kid or spend time with him. I would also never see his mother again and cut off all forms of communication. Hopefully this would help prevent more unwanted kids from being born in the future. It sounds harsh, but it's actually for the sake of children.
