Yup. That's how we got the translated ROM. It's simply a dump of the existing fully translated beta with a couple of fixes so it would run on the emulators of the time.

I am always doubtful of these carts, since 99% of them look like repros. Most preproductions I have run across are alot dirtier and have stickers or writing all over them. Heck even the Mother prototype they have pictures of at Starmen is written all over:

At Dragoncon last year there was a dealer selling an "Official Mother cart" for $100. I asked if I could bring a tool to open it to verify (it looked alot like the NESreproductions.com cart - it had a red label and a big white sticker across the top with MOTHER written on it) and was told no. I even said if I could open it and it met my criteria of being legit I would purchase it at double the given price. The guy backed down again leading me to believe that it was a repro. This one is similar in how it is presented, but the boards are large enough that it could be legit. Color me confused.
