I actually really like top 100 lists but only if they are done by people with an intense knowledge and love for their respective mediums. To me, this list seems very amateurish. Perhaps it is too large of a spectrum for a good top 200 list to be made, I mean 200 out of over 1,000. I find that top 100 lists are great sources for finding new, interesting games, music, movies, etc. but the lists have to be made by someone who goes for quality rather than popularity. For an example of what I would call good top 100 lists, may I direct you to Pitchfork.com. Sure it's music and not games but they have better lists than anyone else.

The list should follow my rule, just have one game per franchise, to me this looked like they just pulled random games out of there asses and just call it a list.

Tell me about it. Now, if say racketboy.com were to collectively work on such a list, we might have something.

Oh God not another one of these...

they're lists... shut up please. Yeah we'd have something if we made a list. You know what we would have? A list WE agreed with.

Christ all fucking mighty.

What ever the intent of this thread. Every time a new damn list appears, we get this thread, and it always just turns into 'we could make a better one'.

Go make on then... have fun... stop screaming about how wrong said source is.

I actually really like top 100 lists but only if they are done by people with an intense knowledge and love for their respective mediums.

this is where it boils down to. Are you kidding me? You're going to try to label such a factor to any group or organization?

It sounds like the religious debate. Do you hear yourself?

"We love ##### correctly, only we could respect #### properly. All those others don't love #### as much as we do... thusly they are wrong about ######."

Yeah, I admit I was being a little pretentious but I didn't build this ivory tower for nothing! Besides, Game Informer sucks lol.

I suppose I should have changed my sentence to "I like top 100 lists when the list has **** that intrigue me or otherwise match my previous beliefs."

I think lists/countdowns should be banned.

The only reason lists and countdowns persist is because it gets so much attention. Bad publicity is still publicity.
