It looks like the mod chip is $15 over at modchip.ca versus $4 at eurasia.nu. Granted they are different chips.

I use BreakerPro and it works flawlessly. Its a BootDisc. Its fairly cheap and boots 96% of the games i threw in. The only games that i didnt get to work were a few multi disc games...but all the final fantasys work metal gear solid works oddworld abe's exodus...its really just a few that dont. it just sucks that the few that dont just happen to be some of my favorite games. the ones i couldnt get to work was fear effect/valkyrie profile/xenogears/chrono cross i think thats about it. I'm just glad they remade valkyrie profile on the psp so i just play it off my psp's memory card haha. But any way breakerpro is awesome no soldering no hassles just pop it in press a button throw in your backup and play! i love it to death haha

i say if you have a ps2 just softmod that and youll be able to play burned ps2/psx games!
cuz like i said a few of my favorite ps2 games ever just wont run with breaker pro and some protected games also wont run like spyro 2 and for some reason ive never been able to run any of the tomb raider games with it it freezes when u click new game but runs fine on my friends softmodded ps2

I'm not aware of any PS2 soft mod that will let you play PSX games. You'll need a PSX swap magic or something similar.

why would you pay for a mod chip for the psx?

you can get the hex from many places online and even if you have to make a programmer will cost you less then $5 i would guess and you can make as many as you want,

euasia.nu hosts quite a few of these hex's i am sure there are many others.

these chips could possibly work for the ps2 as well to play original psx games if you happy with other mods for ps2 games. The neo2 code might even be floating arround, they also did a 2.5 and possibly a 3 as well before they left pics for the neo4

I didn't know the mod chip data was easily available for download. I already have a programmer, so I'd be able to do it. Too bad I already have a PS1 mod chip. Maybe I can make a PS2 chip though?

Will this work in the mini PSOne models?

A good point, the white PSOne has very small surfaces to solder on. The Grey PSX is easier, with the bigger chip legs.

A Mod Chip is so much better then dealing with swapping a boot disc.

You really should get a dictionary and look up the word 'flawless'.
