Sega CD: Is it worth it?

I just got a sega cd model 1 a week ago for a buck, and today I got the geni 1 cord I needed for it. It's not starting up though . If im using my geni 2 on the cd, than all I need is the power supplies for both then just the video from the geni, right?

Yup, chances are that your fuse is blown, it's pretty common among Sega CD's.

Talk to some of the guys in the Tech Help section and see if you can get someone to repair it for you if you can't solder.

Yuppers, although I believe the fuse for the Sega CD itself uses is also called a line fuse or something similar.

A sort of follow up to that 32X thread, but about the Sega CD. I think it would be worth it, but i can't seem to find a good price for it. It seems that its 45+, which is more than what I paid for my Genesis. Also it seems there are WAY more games for it too. Any thoughts about the Sega CD?

I had reservations about buying it at first too but I got one from a local retro store last year and I definitely don't regret it.
All 4 Working Designs games and Sonic CD are fantastic and the two ports of the Genesis Ecco games have amazing audio and are definitely worth playing.
Also whoever mentioned Android Assault made a good suggestion if you're into Horizontal Shmups.
It will get a little on the expensive side for some of the games (the two Lunars and Snatcher) but it's definitely worth it. Though if you decide to invest in the RPGs, especially Shining Force CD; you'll need to get the RAM cart so you can save more (and access the extras in SF CD).
