Is the digital-out Gamecube worth more?

To be honest, I may have snagged it to replace mine for the simple reason that my eject button is sticking lately.

That should be an easy fix if you have a game bit. Just pop off he cover and clean out the mechanism.

I don't have a Gamebit. I've always figured that when this thing shits the bed, I'd just replace it. I mean how much is a Gamebit? GC's are generally about $30. Sometimes less so I was never that worried about replacing it. Like I said. It's my third since launch.

Gamebits aren't that much, and they're handy to have to clean 8 and 16 bit carts as well as any fixes on systems. But true, if you're not tinker minded, just picking up another system is easier. Just don't toss the old systems though, get them to someone who is a tinker, especially if its just something like sticky eject button.

I'm definitely into tinker-ing (that's a word... right?). I just never got one. How much do they run for anyway?

I got mine from The Electric Quarter through an ebay auction years ago. They have them for about $7 for a pair plus shipping. I've seen individual ones for $3 before too. Just don't get that ZooZen toolkit. The game bits in that kit are crap. The ones from EQ have been great. Just search for gamebit or game bit and you'll find plenty.

Make sure you get both sizes. Small covers Nintendo carts (except for GBA), large covers Nintendo systems, Sega made Genesis carts, and NEC systems.
