Thank you very much for the description Ivo! I saw a gameplay video but it only got me confused with the "levels" thing. Now it all makes sense.
Also they seem cheap I saw a complete game in ebay including the glasses but with a slightly beaten box for 10 euro so it should be easy to get.
It's on my "to play" list now. BTW, was it a long game?

Btw, magic carpet (2) can be run in SVGA mode (640x480). If running on an old pentium be sure to have a speedy pci svga controller like an s3 trio64v+ or whatnot. A heavy duty dualcore should be able to run it decently in dosbox as well.

If you can get others to play with you, it is friggin crack. Like Descent or Tribes, there is just so much depth to the multiplayer.

I've only ever played the Saturn version so I can't say how it compares to the others, but aside from some amount of draw in, it plays pretty well on the Saturn. I wish the game had a high speed travel mode so you could travel from one part of the world to another more quickly. It can be kind of a drag if you want to traverse large distances.
