The funny thing is with Zelda and the new interface ideas I don't think Wii needed to play the game like the expensive PS3 w/o any killer launch titles.
I sat out the last round, because Dreamcast kept me more than satisfied (I bought a GC with windwaker then sold it after I played it, a very worthwhile investment that only cost me nothing because I sold the N64 zelda disc for a good price). Now I'm ready to get back into the game and Wii looks like it fits my needs more than ps3 or 360. I'll get one in a few months without waiting in line for a day or making another line waiter rich with my money.
That's a healthy attitude. I had a few minor attempts at line waiting and got lucky. I waited outside Toys R Us for 45 minutes on black friday, they didn't get their shipment, so they took down a few names and numbers. I waited another half hour at Target to no avail and figured I'd just get one later. Imagine my surprise when Toys R Us called me on Monday telling me they had my Wii waiting!
Waiting a half hour to buy ONE system that you're going to use is fine, in fact it takes me back to the days when gaming was more innocent. It's more the culture of the game companies releasing limited quantities to create hype combined with people figuring out ways to mass purchase and eBay systems that ruins the new launches for me. I bought the DC at launch easily and enjoyed it. Since then it's been a disgrace. My most tech savvy friend designed some kind of bot to scan eBay and store websites and purchase Wii's that met certain price ranges. He has bough a bunch this way and is cleaning up on eBay now. I'd rather wait a couple months than make others $.

I got one Saturday, and I'll try to get my number posted later today. I plan to get Batallion Wars 2, and it looks fun for online; essentially a console version of Advance Wars.
