Mustaine's lyrics are usually pretty ridiculous, which is par for the course in thrash metal, but they do rock pretty hard. I've been pretty disappointed that I've missed both Gigantours so far.

Also, I guess I can't be much of a fan since I didn't know the new album was coming out today. I'll probably add it to my Christmas list, since I always have a hard time coming up with things I want. Though it will probably be more expensive by then, so maybe I'll get it tomorrow... Now I need to check when the next Dream Theater album comes out.

Anyway, my three favorite Megadeth Albums would probably be:

1. Rust in Peace
2. United Abominations
3. Youthanasia

It seems to be illegal to discuss Megadeth without mentioning Metallica, so I'll just say that, at least during this decade, I greatly prefer Megadeth's output.
DT's new album has been out for a while, I haven't heard it yet apart from the teaser single they put on the web a couple of months ago. Not been a fan of DT's stuff since Train of Thought and even then I didn't like it that much. Liked every single album before that though. What the hell happened?

Don't turn this thread into a Megadeth vs Metallica argument, anyone who does will be warned and will get the thread locked for everyone else.

I would actually put Octavarium as my second favorite DT album after Images and Words. And finding out that their last album has been out for months made me realize that I pretty much just haven't been listening to music for the last six months. I have been spending more time gaming, though. Maybe I can only actively maintain one hobby at a time.

Oh, and you can listen to Megadeth's entire new album on their Myspace page currently. I gave it a listen the other night. I thought it was pretty good, but it sounds a lot like United Abominations, at least with only one listen. UA and RIP were the only two Megadeth albums I really liked on my first listen, though. Usually I have to listen a few times to really get into them.

And yeah, while I'm a big fan of substantive argument, Megadeth vs. Metallica is never a substantive argument.

I saw a lot of Iron maiden fans in a topic lets see if Megadeth can beat that. Who is getting the new album Endgame? I know I am. Whats your favorite Megadeth albums? And who has seen them live? I only wish I got to see Marty Friedman live with them.

1. Rust in Peace
2. Peace sells
3. Countdown to Extiction
Didn't know they had a new album coming gonna look for it. For me Countdown is 2 and Peace 3.

Didn't know about this but I'm listening to the preview on Amazon and it sounds solid. I've sort of lost track of them since the early 90's but I frickin' love:
1.Peace Sells
2.Rust in Peace
3.Countdown to Extinction

It's cool that Megadeth has remained more or less consistent over the years, something you can't say for many. I paid about $30 last year to get an older pressing of Peace Sells and I plan on doing the same for all the other classic albums. No remasters for me, thanks.

I love Megadeth. Been a fan since the early 90's. I need to get their new album. I heard a song and it sounds like classic Megadeth. Must get!

My top 3 albums:

1. Rust In Peace
2. Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!
3. Countdown To Extinction

I love almost all megadeth and their new album is pretty good. Although its almost too much soloing. The new guitarist is ripping every second he gets. You kind of start taking for granted how talented you have to be to do it.
