Where do you score your best game deals?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

The fleamarkets i go to are video game stores selling out there and all there stuff is over priced like a joke.

But at the end of the day it's all about goodwill's thrift stores and pawn shops and craiglist.
I don't have much luck at yard sales.

Anywhere you'd least expect it.

I have yet to find good deals in a pawn shop, but it may just be the ones around here, but I can keep my eyes open. I also have yet to investigate Goodwill. But now that I'm an employed man, I can investigate all this stuff much more. :)

Good deals are only in places where they dont know the value of what they are selling. Flea Markets, Garage sales, pawn shops. While your never sure if you will find anything when you do it normally pays off. The general rule (To me at least is) if you want it now, you pay out the ass at a GameTraders or eBay. If your willing to wait (Months or years) and constantly be on the hunt at pawn shops, eventually you find games on your 'list' and score them for close to nothing.

all my best deals come via cleaning up on cheap games that I don't want or already have at thrift stores or flea markets/yard sales and then trading them in for store credit at a local retro store and buying a ton of good stuff

Half Price Books all the way for PC games. That's where retailers dump their unsold copies so everything usually goes for cheap. I picked up the first two splinter cell games there for $10 and Far Cry for $3. They even get some console games at the big store near downtown.

I actually had my best find at a Half Price. Legend of Mana for $3

I buy newer stuff from Amazon. For the retro stuff I shop at Goodwill/thrift stores. Craigslist has great deals, but I forget about using it when I'm looking for games.

Craiglist has been great for me. i like the idea of saying you have a ps2 for trade and asking for older consoles and games.

I never have much luck on Craigslist. It always seems like people find out how much their game costs at GameStop and then they add a dollar to the price. It must just be that the Seattle area isn't too good for that kind of thing.
