Hehe. Try Street Fighter Alpha 2 or Garou: Mark of the Wolves. I found those two quite lenient and easy enough for people who don't play Fighters much to get through.

As for the thread subject, I don't tend to play with the inferior characters. Some people don't like Fei Long, but I find he makes completing Street Fighter II rather easy for me.

For whatever reason I gravitate towards boxers in fighing games. I like beasting it with Balrog/M. Bison in SF2 and 4, TJ Combo in KI, etc.

I also use Tager in BB. I get a lot of comments saying he is cheap and overpowered buts that's just because I beat the scrubs on XBL.

Balrog is hard to play with because the only move your opponent needs to have mastered in order to beat you is the foot sweep. If I get too frustrated I always fall back on the alternating pattern of holding LP+MP+HP, releasing, then locking into a repeated headbutt grip, then charging the LP+MP+HP again and repeating. You can repeat that until they die and it's almost impossible to counter. It feels REALLY cheap though, so I don't like to use that technique.

Hotaru, you mean? I actually like playing as her regardless, but that DM is pretty funny. Almost Ar Tonelico-level double entendre going on.

The other Garou character I love playing as is Freeman. I just have a thing for psychopaths. If only they'd put him in a KOF so I could have him in a team with Iori and Yamazaki.

Well, I hate Tager, but that's mainly because I main Taokaka. Just like how I hate Potemkin because I mained Baiken. I can just imagine the guys on the other ends of the tubes saying "Wow, that was a really impressive combo you just pulled off. Here's a command grab: I win."

If I used any other character, it wouldn't really be a problem, but I always go for the rush-down characters. I understand perfectly well that Tager is bottom-tier, but if I'm playing as Taokaka, I may as well be fighting Unlimited Rachel.

Mortal Kombat : Sub Zero

Best Finishing move ever. Simple, to the point, easy to execute. Nowadays no one would look twice at a head pulled off with a spine dangling. I hate MK as a game, but played tons just to be good enough to decapitate my friends.

VF 2-5 : Wolf

I dunno, I just like his double underhook powerbomb move. I think Scott Steiner did it back in the day calling it a Steiner Driver or something. Also known as the Tiger Bomb. Used to dig wrestling before it completely became a soap opera in the early 90's.

SF3 T.S. = Dudley because he is really fun to play.

SF4 = Honda

because people always underestimate him. Tier ratings aint shit Honda can hang in the proper hands. I main Rog but Honda is way more fun due to the perceived uphill battle.

Rog is the opposite, very overrated in SF4. I thought he was better due to some hype around cheap online tactics he can use on scrubs. Now I know offline tournament players and the Japanese have him on lockdown unless you play perfectly. Now that my execution with him is so good I kind of want to stick it out though, see how good I can get.

SSF2T or HD remix = Honda

because he is so ruthless and cheap especially in Hd Remix. His mix-up game in HD Remix is stupid fun. You can tell people really hate playing against him in these games.

SF3: Ikubi, Makoto, or Sean.
SF4: El Fuerte.
SSBM: Ice Climbers, or Peach.
VF5: Eileen.
Melty Blood: Aoko Aozaki.

I seriously need to play more fighting games.

Grapplers in any fighting game need special kind of strategy. Letting a grappler get in close is a death sentence. For example in HDR I'm usually very rush-down with Deejay, but when I see a Gief come aboard I zone the hell out of him. I understand how that could be a problem though since Toakaka's projectiles are shit but Tager is pretty useless if the oppenent isn't magnetized. Perhaps consider taking up Nu just in-case you run into a Tager.
