Yeah, we already found out that the chip was a board revision by Sega, but thanks for the video with some tips on fuse replacement.

Here are the pics of the fix we did, I'll let DrCirno explain further when he's on as he bought the supplies and did the soldering work on it:

All I did was solder on two wires on to the back of the board at the points where the fuse was.(like the video) On those wires I put a fuse holder(the white thing up there) so that in the event I blow another fuse it will be an easy replacement. Although I have already blown through 4 now, I think that is just because I'm using fast action fuses that break with any movement of the console. Mod Man did a great job cleaning the unit, it was corroded and dirty all the hell. I think it was sitting in that shack at the flea market for years.

Woo ghetto fusetacular!

I kid. Looks good and easy to replace the fuse again later. Glad it was just the fuse.

My Sega CD's internal fuse looks like this:

Image

With the vague information I've been getting on the internet about this not as common model, you have to solder each end of the new fuse on either side of that orange box (original fuse.) Can anyone confirm this?
Systems: SNES, PS1, GBA SP, Gamecube, DS Lite, Wii, PS3 (Fully Backwards Compatible), Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, a Sega CD, and a Sega Saturn.

Fire off a PM to Cirno, he'll be able to help you out. I just did the case and contact restoration, not the repairs.
