Which Racing Games Have Aged the Best?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Outrun, Road Rash 2, Gran Turismo 2, Test Drive 5, Test Drive Le Mans (on Dreamcast), Test Drive 2, and Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit, are all excellent.

EDIT: Forgot Sega Rally

15 years old or not, you've got great taste in racing games.

Shit, good call on Rock N' Roll Racing, totally slipped my mind. One of the best racers I've ever played.

Definitely agree with F-Zero and Super Off-Road (arcade). And I respect Luke for showing some love for Grand Prix on the 2600, but my favorite 2600 racer (and one of my top five games of all-time) is Indy 500 with the driving controllers. Gameplay perfection.

Oh yeah, Indy 500. It was like playing Combat, but with cars that didn't have guns mounted on them. Good call.
I still prefer Grand Prix, but you know, Diff'rent Strokes.

F-Zero and F-Zero X are still fun, but Diddy Kong Racing has held up the best for me. Still one of my favorite titles, and probably my favorite racing game ever.

Mario Kart 64's graphics have aged terribly, and it's weird how the other racers seem to pick up speed when you're beating them. -_-

I'm currently playing R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 and couldn't agree more. The graphics, controls, music and atmosphere of the game haven't faded at all since it's release and serve to keep the game up to date regardless of it's age.

ive got a lot of nostalgia for f zero x and diddy kong racing. in my opinion dkr was way better than mario kart 64, and to me has aged better.
