I'm seriously excited for this game

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I believe they also worked on GrimGrimoire for the PS2. It looks similar, 2-D RPG, lush visuals. I've got it in the collection but have yet to have a chance to play it.

I got a Wii
but for those who don't

Why wouldn't any publisher sell his game on all systems specially if it hasn't any features that are exclusive to the console(like motion control for Wii , or huge storage for ps3)

Heheh, ya my Wii hasn't been turned on for about 6 months. The Wii is supposedly doing very well, but I always wonder why the games are just so lackluster to me.
After watching the link, this is a game that I will be picking up.

Wow, I initially glazed over this topic, but after looking into this I haven't been infatuated with a game like this for a long time. And like a couple other of you guys, this will finally be a good reason to turn my wii back on.

RadarScope1 also posted in the Microsoft forum about this video of a game in the same style (though I don't think it is made by Vanillaware like Princess Crown, Odin Sphere, or Muramasa)

Holy crap that game has some smooth animation. I want more 2D games. Seriously, make a sonic game like that. Or a new Comix Zone.

In preparation for this game's release, I've been getting back into my Wii. Over the last month or two, I've realized that there are pretty decent games already out on the console, not to mention the dozens of intriguing games on the horizon. I'm really excited about the Wii, and my enthusiasm is catching. One of my friends from work went out and bought $100 worth of games for his Wii after I brought mine in on a slow day.

Yeah, I got off topic a bit with my gushing, but I have one last thing to say: If the Wii keeps getting quality games like Muramasa, I'll be very happy with it.

I agree, I feel like a lot of people were starting to lose interest in the Wii (including myself) because it seemed that the only games that would ever be released were gimmicky sports games (I don't mean the real sports games, but the ones you use your Miis to play). They were fun at first and helped you get used to the motion controls, but I felt like the Wii was turning into one of those $20 thinks you buy in a clamshell package that plugs directly into your TV. Something Tiger would make and your grandparents would buy you for Christmas because they don't know any better. This has led a lot of people to start getting rid of their Wiis, but it looks like they are starting to finally come out with some legit games.

I think that the Wii has been up and down. It started off reasonably strong, lots of first party titles were coming out, the motion controls were still novel, etc. After the Wii became a huge hit, Nintendo sort of planed out and rested on their success, while less than stellar games were all that was going for the Wii. I'm just hoping that this is going to take part in rebooting the Wii's state of affairs, along side things like SMG 2 and that mysterious Zelda game that exists mostly in theory.

I'm not seeing the Wii serge at all, honestly. The only big Wii title I've seen in the past 3 months is Wii Sports Resort. Granted, it is huge, but it's not going to change any minds - If you loved Wii Sports, it's more of the same. If you didn't care much for Wii Sports, it's more of the same.

The only Wii title I care about that's coming up is Tatsunoko vs Capcom - and that'll fly over about as well as a led zeppelin here in the West. Other than that, there's Metroid: Other M, New Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and this Muramasa. They may all be good titles, but they still aren't enough from where I'm sitting.

Perhaps I'm just hard to please, but even with someone offering me a Wii for $100, I see little reason to buy it - except maybe to sell it to someone else and maybe make a small profit.

The Xbox 360 is very easy for Western devs to program for, so that's why a lot of third party games stay 360 exclusive. It's also a great choice for developers who don't really care if their game does well in Japan. (Pretty much any FPS,RTS,WRPG, or other genre rooted in PC Gaming)

The Wii is the most popular current gen platform in the world. A lot of devs probably don't see a reason to make the game for any other system. Also, a lot of devs probably rely on the Wii user-base being new to gaming, and thus not checking reviews. They count on impulse buys and purchases based on "It looks like Wii Fit, but it's cheaper!"

The PS3 is the dominant high-end system in Japan. If you are making a high-end game that will primarily appeal to the Japanese, why waste money cross-developing it for the 360? Of course, a lot of people are realizing now that they shouldn't even waste the time and that they should instead 'Fun Size' (a.k.a Neuter) the games by putting their console series' onto the DS or PSP. (Dragon Quest, Valkyrie Profile, Valkyria Chronicles, Shin Megami Tensei, etc.)

Man, I am bitter. Not like the industry has been trying to fix that.
