i had a momentary lapse of judgement thinking you were trying to connect a vga source, and i know there are breakout cables to RCA for those.

i looked for scart to bnc or scart to RCA cables, but they didn't seem easy to find.

like I said, I'd probably try to hack a saturn scart cable in half, and use a continuity tester to determine which wires go to which pins. it's possible that the scart cable attaches to composite video from which an scart TV can get snyc.

is it possible to mod the Saturn so you can have an RGB cable comming out to 5 BNC connectors, I recently purchased a ViewSonic Computer monitor and would be extatic to output my saturn video through BNC connectors as I have heard BNC is the best RBG cable type there is (basically a VGA cable but seperated) Is this possible? The cable I have for my monitor now is a VGA to BNC cable, and I can get a Saturn SCART cable.

also, is it possible to make a BNC cable for the Nintendo Wii? Since Wii only has analog video you couldn't do something like DVI or HDMI because it'd be a waste since those are digital cables, but it'd be nice to have the best quality analog cables.

Nintendo sells component and D-Terminal cables, those are pretty much the same quality right?

would a BNC cable provide a slightly better picture?

the type of signal matters far more than the connection or wire, especially under 6 to 10 feet. if you're using RGB you're going to get a damn good picture unless your wires and/or terminals just plain truly suck.

bnc coaxial is nice though.

as far as a saturn on a viewsonic monitor, i highly doubt it. the model number will help you determine if it supports a low enough refresh rate. most monitors (read all) nowadays don't support 15khz.

I figured as much, I'll probably have to get a converter or some description, the only problem is, even if I get a converter, or a monitor that can display at 15khz, I still don't have a cable (I am inexpirienced at making my own cables, I guess you have to learn some way though )

I guess I'm just looking for a place to start or some advice etc.

I can get a scart cable to output RGB instead of using the composite cable I have now, except I have nothing to plug the SCART into (american A/V Reciever and television) and SCART is the only RGB cable for Saturn that is manufactured right? so I either have to find an SCART converter, or make my own cable correct? What supplies should I get to do such a thing.

the sought after xrgb(2) converts RGB Scart to VGA, however, it uses a japanese style scart as opposed to euro. they look the same but have different pinouts (they use the same plug but the wires do different things).

bascially what you need is an upscan converter, generally they're not cheap.

honestly as far as a saturn goes, S-video is way cheaper if your TV has it, and it looks plenty good enough. Even for someone like myself who could take the time to hook a saturn to a monitor, it just doesn't seem worth it. Hell i took the time to wire a PS2 to VGA for the maybe 12 games i'll ever play that support it, but i still haven't bothered with the saturn. maybe someday when i'm rich and bored...

P.S.S if i remember right, the last time i thought about this i came to the conclusion that it would be easier to convert the RGB to component video. I'm pretty sure it was a JROK or similar converter i was looking at.
