Seriously though, awesome. Though I suppose I'd also like to see mods made like in the older games so I can play infantry. You have no idea what a rush it is to drop one of those suckers while you're a little guy on the ground who dies in one hit.
Then you'll probably be interested in Mechwarrior Living Legends for Crysis. I've been anticipating this one as well, as it's more Battlefield-style with infantry, vehicles, aerofighters, and mechs. And these guys have an official non-commercial license with Microsoft (who still own the Battletech IP) so there's not a danger of random lawyers shutting them down. There's supposed to be a release before the year is up.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the THIRD piece of awesome Mechwarrior news:

http://www.smithandtinker.com/news/mech ... ch-com.php
In honor of BattleTech's 25th anniversary, Smith & Tinker has authorized MekTek.net and MekTek Studios to distribute MechWarrior 4 (along with its expansion packs) completely free. For years, MekTek.net has been the central point for online distribution of MechWarrior 4 expansion packs. Now they can provide the core game free to the fans as well. Keep an eye on BattleTech.com – the free download will be available soon!

I played Mech Commander 2, and liked it for a few hours, but the missions got too repetitive and too hard. Never played a true MechWarrior game
