Anyhow I know it wont replace local stuff anytime soon, but it's what these companies or their ad people try to claim they can do.
AH! I did misquote. Sorry about that. Pretty sure online is just newer stuff.

The platform is bleeding edge, but i'm not sure that the term 'bleeding edge' can be applied to any commercial game as there is very little if any risk of stability to any kind of setup when running them.

And again, it's been noted by many that the Gaikai folks aren't claiming anything over the top or unbelievable. So far it's been very calm and collected, and free of marketing BS. Read the linked article back in the first post to see what I mean.

OnLive on the other hand have been hyping like crazy. My money's with the company that is pushing development over hype.

I heard about this a couple days ago.. same concept as Onlive "cloud gaming"... 8)
