I cant really come up with a top 5 books so I thought Id list my five favorite authors instead... :D

Robert E Howard
H P Lovecraft
Philip K Dick
Edgar Rice Burroughs

Well thats only four becuase I dont want to put a fifth and leave others I love out so Ill keep it open lol.

If forced at gun point to choose a favorite story from each of those listed it would probably be...

Tower of the Elephant
Rats in the Walls
Autofac
A Princess of Mars

Godel, Escher, Bach - Douglas Hofstadter
One, Two, Three... Infinity - George Gamow
The Road to Reality - Roger Penrose
Phenethylamines I Have Known and Loved - Alexander Shulgin
Consciousness Explained - Daniel Dennett
And anything Martin Gardner ever wrote.

Fiction is meh. I'd rather read about stuff that actually happens.

Robinson Crusoe - Daniel Defoe
LOTR/Hobbit - JRR Tolkien
Dinotopia Lost - Alan Dean Foster
Dune - Frank Herbert
All works of Jules Verne and CS Lewis

And Anayo, the author of the Shannara series is Terry Brooks. I enjoyed the first one (it read like an AD&D session), the second one was just awful though.

If only there was enough time to read all the books I want to. I can't even pick a top five because I'm sure it'll change after I read the 20+ books I've been wanting to. If I had to pick out of the books I've already read though, it'd be something like (in no particular order)...

1) The Outsiders by SE Hinton
2) Catch Me if You Can by Frank W. Abagnale
3) The Lord of the Flies by William Golding
4) Mookraker by Ian Flemming
5) Diamonds Are Forever by Ian Flemming

Like I said though, I'm sure this list will drastically change a bunch of time. There's just not enough time in the day to read as much as I'd like.

Two books that are way up at the top of my list to read.

I always wanted to give them a try.

Lol. I'm like that with most things too.

No particular order...

The Hobbit.
Robinson Crusoe.
Anything by Jules Verne (Especially 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea).
And anything by Isaac Asimov.

The A Song Of Ice And Fire series (George RR Martin)
First 6 Wheel of Time books (Robert Jordan)
Ender's Shadow (Card. I like it better than Ender's Game because Bean is a more interesting character IMO and Card's writing style developed more by the time he made this)
Otherland series (Tad Williams)

John Grisham books are really good fiction. Any book about bands, celebs, etc, are usually entertaining.
