Looking back to the gamecube era, I thought I had it bad back then. But now that I look at it, the gamecube kicks the wii's ass. Every sequel that has came out on the wii coming from the cube has been less than suppirior, minus a few.
Smash bros melee VS. Brawl = Melee
TLOZ wind waker VS. TP = Wind waker. ( Yes I know TP was released on gamecube, but that's even more for the cube.)
MKDD VS. MK Wii = MKDD
Super mario sunshine VS. Galaxy = Galaxy
FZero X VS. No fzero on wii = X.

I bought the wii for the virtual console and to play gamecube games. Also to get galaxy, and red steel which sucked bloody balls.
So stock up on the cube's hits if you don't already have them. :D

So I had a Wii when it came out and I had a lot of games. The only one I kept playing was excite truck and thats the reason i re bought a Wii. I didn get excite bots and really like it.

I had...
The new mario kart. thought it was way slower then the 64 one. not so into it
Trauma center was fun
Res evil 4 pretty good. better than 5 on ps3 cause the controls are horrible. according to me.
Never like SSB cause the characters are too small. dont know why its always zooming out.
Mario galxy made me sea sick and I hated that you can't see what up ahead of you since you're always rounding a horizon. I like Mario Sunshine the MOST out of any mario game.

And I for some reason consider mario 64 and sunshine and action RPG. maybe thats not right.
I think Im leaning towards Zelda.

This happens mostly in matches on big stages with 4 players. The camera has to zoom out when everyone goes in different directions in order to keep them all on the screen. Try playing some basic 1v1 matches against the computer on simple, small stages like Battlefield. This is what I usually like to do. I hate stages like New Pork City where it zooms waaaaay out and you can't see what's going on.

Nah, that's not right. There are no RPG elements at all in Mario 64 and Sunshine. They are platformers through and through.

But anyway, in terms of reccomendations. I have enjoyed these:

- No More Heroes
- Wario Land (not as short as it seems if you want to complete it 100%)
- Super Mario Galaxy
- Resident Evil 4
- Pikmin 2
- Super Smash Bros Brawl

I actually need to buy some more Wii games as well. I'm thinking of getting:

- Mad World
- The Conduit
- Let's Fap
- Little King's Story

What do people define as RPG elements? Games that fall under the label RPG span a very broad range of experiences.
It seems acceptable that RPG combat can be turn based, stategic planning or just mashing a few buttons, so I dont think that you can discount any game as a potential RPG on the basis of the combat system.
People say that Red Steel has RPG elements because you can upgrade your character, yet Zelda has no upgradable items and not stats of any kind. You can extensively upgrade you car and pore over stats in Gran Turismo but I dont think anyone would claim that GT is an RPG.
I think the most overwhelming ascpect of games like Zelda, and Beyond Good and Evil is the immersive world and storyline, maybe thats what determines where or not a game can be considered an RPG?

Anyway, I say Twilight Princess is a great game and I hear good things about Okami. I also love No More Heroes, best boss fights ever.

I disagree but I don't want this to become another smashboards where everyone whines because there are less glitches in the game so please let's leave it at "We agree to disagree".

Trauma Center New Blood is very fun and has a coopertaiev mode so I recommend it very much. Punch-Out Wii is also a great game though it doesn't really improves on the old formula.

ha. I think it is "lets tap"

Anything put out by nintnedo is going to be pretty high quality. I don't think i need to recommend metroid to you. You'll either check it out or it isn't your thing, and you already know it. So here are some recommendations off the beaten path (some more than others).

zack and wiki - pretty much a modern point and click adventure. humorous. fun.
the conduit- action shooter. kinda mediocre multiplayer imho.
call of duty world at war- fun, but if you have another system you are better off getting it there.
dokapon kingdom - kinda like mario party, but with rpg elements. Fun with people, boring without.
Harvey birdman- if you are a fan of the show you'll enjoy the game. It should be super cheap too.
Klonoa- side scrolling platformer. super fun.
Ultimate shooting gallery/clastle of shikigami III if you are in to shoot em ups
de blob!- fun but gets a bit repetitive.
Okami- a port of the ps2 game with updated controls. worth checking out if you haven't played it on ps2.
Sam and max season 1- modern point and click adventure. Really funny.
Tatsunoko vs capcom- for the fighter in you.
samurai showdown/kof/metal slug/neo geo collections- oh wait, you have a neo geo cab right? nevermind.
tenchu shadow assassins- stealth game. Requires patience and has a learning curve with the controls.
House of the dead 2, 3, overkill- shoot those zombies
Trivial pursuit wii is fun- if you are into that kinda thing.
xmen origins wolverine- pretty good brawler. if you have another system get it for that instead.
star wars the force unleasehed- pretty good brawler. if you have another system get it for that instead.
tomb raider anniversary- if you are into that kinda thing. I really liked it. good remake.

i hear the overlord game might be good? i haven't played it
some people like endless ocean and animal crossing. I don't so much.

I never really liked excite truck. It always seemed really weak compared to burnout paradise IMHO.

as far as wii ware goes- i havne't fucked around with a lot of it yet.
final fantasy IV the after years looks good. Played the first hour of it. Enjoyable if you liked FFIV way back when
Contra rebirth is great- if you like contra
onslaught got good reviews.
world of goo
lost winds
mega man 9
dr mario online
strong bad games are good if you are a fan
tetris party

and you should really pop some homebrew on that machine if you are inclined.

Aside from the standard emulators- snes, nes, gba, blah blah blah
the quake port is fantastic. Plays better than call of duty and conduit IMHO. I wish wish wish they would add multiplayer. Apparently it is being worked on, but who knows if that is even actually happening.
ScummVM
PSX emulator
i heard dos box is running on the wii? havne't tried it yet though. It would be cool to get system shock running on the wii. I've never played it.

the wii is kind of a tank of emulation. People are trying to get saturn stuff to run on it.

wow... i play a lot more than i realized.

How could I forget this one? And yeah, it doesn't really improve on the old formula since the old formula was so high quality to begin with.

For me it's all about using the Wii's unique controls and pointing capabilities, so I really like:

Pointing Rocks
World of Goo
Zack and Wiki

More Natural Shooting
Metroid Prime 3
Resident Evil 4

Motion Controls
Madworld
No More Heroes
I run the 8/16-bit retro site TimeWarpGamer and if you want to follow the latest updates, check me out on Twitter.

Oh yeah I'm definitely getting Punch Out. I played that and it was awesome! I will definitely be getting house of the Dead 2, 3. Thanks forgot about that one. And I just might have to check out Zack and Wiki now.
