I am a complete idiot, how about you?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Yeah. I have this same issue with Ca. I love it here, but I spend more money on weed than I spend on food, music equipment, or videogames..

I'll only live 1/2 of once.

i also follow the 'you only live once' mantra which is why i don't consume alcohol. funny how people's ideologies can start the same and end differently.

also note that i have nothing against drinking. i just never got into it.

You only live once...unless you accumulate enough magical power to become a liche...
Comics, RPG's, miniatures, and now retrogaming? I guess its time to learn to go without eating...

I'm known for my cheap ways by friends and family I haven't really bought any new clothes in 6 years (just a few things a year) I always eat leftovers almost never eat out (maybe once a month and its usually fast food) and go to the movies at the theatre a few times a year. I do however have loads of games and nice computer equipment but am known to trade and sell often to afford this stuff and always look for the best deal. Don't drive much either tend to stay home alot to save on gas and walk or bike if its close enough. Even stayed close to home for college (first college was a 20 minute drive and the new one is 5 minutes away)

I turned down the opportunity to watch Wimbledon and have a couple drinks earlier, I was pleased at first, but i'm now just starting to wonder if it's due to the hangover. I'm not sure if I should take this as an opportunity to just buy the games I want for full price or not.

I have no idea how you didn't fit a 'you only live ounce' joke into that

ALSO

I must've spent 5 minutes trying to limit the amount of times I said opportunity in that first sentence and have come up with nothing, it's been a long day.

You express exactly what I feel.

I think of buying Fallout 3 for 25 € for days, but as soon as I'm out with the guys I pay 40 € for a short funny night and a hangover. And I purchased Fallout anyway. Do you understand my behaviour? See, me neither.. ;)

i don't know about you guy's but i spend like crazy.if i see something that i want I'll buy it. games and consoles? yes i buy it! if i see a console i don't care if i have model 1 for example this is model 2 and i don't have that one! i can't leave it there! but there's something that puts the brakes on me and that's my wife. when ever i see something that i like and tell her "hey im gonna get that" she's like you don't need that! don't you have that already? anyways it's too expensive! i think im a compulsive buyer. :) anyway it doesn't interfere with our normal life. 8)

That's the exact reason to drink, especially good scotch.
Remember that your body is not a temple, it's a roller coaster ride. Enjoy it while you have it, you could die today just as easily as any other day. I'm not condoning abuse, but if you enjoy Cigars/Alcohol/Driving over 100mph/Sky Diving, or any other activity that could be life threatening, enjoy it why you can.

Fully agreed, Luke. If you only live once, why not get what you can from it? There's such a thing as moderation, and it's not like there's any evidence of anybody getting a second chance.

Of course if you subscribe to the beliefs of Ray Kurzweil and company and believe that the singularity will make us all immortal in the year 2040 then it's worth trying to stay alive until at least then. The good news is that only your mind need be preserved. It can always be projected into a perfect virtual (or synthetic) body of one's choosing. Then again, the robots could just kill us all and follow it up with a huge robot orgy. Either way, living life to the fullest sounds like a good idea.
