I've gotten a few deals at Super Potato. Mostly in the cheap bin near the door on the 3rd floor. The odd time, they put the wrong price tag on things. There was an arcade card duo there for 1000yen surrounded by about 20 others for 2000 for the longest time. Still, those are the exceptions.hashiriya1 wrote:Super Potato is a complete RIP OFF. HARD OFF has inconsistent pricing, and is usually more expensive than these super stores.
ONCE in a great while, you'll find a good deal at HARD OFF. The same goes for BOOK OFF.
Totally true about the best prices being nowhere near major train stations. Most of my best deals are gotten at Hard-Offs... but you really have to search to get them!

How much were those copies of Radiant Silvergun? And... what was up with that Core I in a Core II box?

very sweet! What is the difference between the Virtual Boy with red text on the box and the one with white text on the box? And what is up with the various sized game cubes?

This has just blown my mind!! It's hard to believe places like that exist! Damn my small Canadian town lifestyle.

heheh, the one with the 'white letters' just has a faded box. Some of the gamecubes have gameboy players attached to them.

The Super Potato in Sendai is, for some weird reason, cheaper than the one in Akiba. I go to both so often that I notice they swap some of the really expensive rare items. So far, the best prefecture with these shops is hands-down Iwate prefecture. Why? Because nobody up there buys this stuff, and no foreign gamers ever make it up that far. The ones in Yamagata and Akita come in tied at 2nd place. I drive A LOT, haha.
Here's a blog of a guy who's been to all of them in Japan.
