The one in Bloomingdale is where I go. Never heard of Play N Trade. Up till about a few months ago there was another great place called Gamers Garage that only sold games Atari-DC, but they recently closed down.

I'm assuming by Palatine, you mean the one in Niles? Unless there's another one in Palatine that I don't know about. Regardless- I've never seen any games at the one in Niles. But then again, I don't recall checking.

The WORST place is the Disc Replay in Downers Grove- all their games are priced like they're the only ones on eBay and everyone wants 'em. The DR in Bloomingdale on the other hand, couldn't careless if they sell their games dirt cheap.

I heard of Play n Trade from here, there is one in the entire state of Michigan. It's just games, like Gamestop, but with older games too, although the two stores I've been to it's been majority of the same stuff you find at Gamestop.

The store in Palatine is on 12, west of 53. Check out their website, I have a customer on 12 in Lake Zurich, I must of drove right by that one on my way to Schaumburg.

Thanks for the tip. I'll add it to my gaming route. There's a few places in Chicago that are great too- there's one around Harlem and Irving (I think) and I know there's another on off Clark (?)- Maybe someone can verify that- I know it's by a comic shop, and not 1, not 2, but 3(!) head shops. Damn hippies.

Regardless, about once a month I make the rounds through the Chicagoland area. Lots of great places around here...

I should also mention that they're great for finding movies. I don't have too many examples of this, and the one I'm about to tell is irrelevant now that it's been released on DVD this October, but they had Night of the Creeps for $1. Good condition sleeve and tape too!

This same thing happened to me with Night of the Comet. I was trying to find a VHS tape forever then they anounced a DVD release. I found a VHS tape in a pawn shop about the same time the DVD released. So now I have it on VHS and DVD heh.

Been meaning to pick that up- only place I've found it is a place out here called FRY'S. Unfortunately, the disc holder is broken in the only copy they have. Every time I go there, I see it, and I shake it hoping that for whatever reason it'll no longer be broken, in which I'm sure I'm scratching up the disc even more.

Yeah, the one in Downers Grove is pretty horrible. I did manage to once find a boxed complete copy of Star Fox there for $20, but the rest of what they were offering was overpriced sports games.

Half-Price Books is an incredible store but you can't expect them to keep a consistent inventory as it's not a video game store and it doesn't claim to be. It's a bookstore that happens to have games and sometimes, when you're lucky, some those games will be gems and cheaply priced. If nothing else, I go there for the records and LaserDiscs. I always walk out of there with something awesome.

I hate when the DVD is loose in the case. I got my copy at Hastings in Texas shortly after release and I have not seen copies anywhere else since. Got to have them on Ebay though I'd imagine.
