Same. Battery. Model. :x

Hell, I don't even think the SNES CR2032 batteries would fit in your average GB cart. They're a bit thicker from what I remember.

Who's a smart alek? I have no Idea what to tell you mozgus :/ We can look for guides for replacing GB batteries. Now, this is GB, not DGB or GBC correct?

Specifically, I was dealing with Super Mario Land 2 and Pokemon Yellow. It doesn't matter anyway. My sisters have put probably 20 hours into Mario Land 2 even without the save feature, thanks to the non-linear design. They'll never get to Wario's castle though, lol.

Oh, and Eggman seems to have become a little discombobulated there. Don't mind him.

Well, the pokemon games are dbg, (dual game boy) basically, gameboy color games that work in both gameboy, and gameboy color. Though having significantly less colors than a gbc cartridge. It's possible that they don't use the same battery as gbc or gb, though I'm not particularly sure. Now that it doesn't matter though, lol, this doesn't matter. I guess I should still check it out for my own sake, considering the fact that I've had some of my gb games for quite a while.

Well he did say he was using the same battery as that in the game, so i just think its either not possible or he broke it somehow. If you tried soldering it off, that may have done it...Or you never securably placed it in the holders. That, and I KNOW the CR2032 batters fit as I have a pirated game with the same size cartridge inside a holder. They really aren't thicker, only they have a longer diameter.

Pokemon Red battery

Says right on the PWB (thats printed wiring board for those that dont know) that it uses a CR2025 battery. Going to take mine to work where we have good soldering irons (tip temp controlled) and remove and replace one and let you know how it works.

I've always heard people say it was PCB, Printed Circuit Board.

PCB/PWB

they are the same thing. I work for a company that builds circuit cards for Boeing and other companies. So if you ever fly on the new 787, I helped build it :).

I changed the battery in a Pokemon Red last night and it works great. I am taking a Pokemon Gold to work tonight to change that battery.

Magnus, what kind of soldering iron did you use to change the battery in your GBC cart?

Just a regular fine tip 15-watt one from Radioshack.
