Did they ever fix the PSP-3000's screen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Well, I've decided what Sony will have to do to get me to buy this:

Now, the problem for me is that I have about 10 UMD discs (9 games, 1 movie), not counting the free Spider-Man 2 movie I got w/ my PSP1K. But that's about $100, give or take some X-notes, in this dying format.

And I know what Sony can do to placate us that don't wanna spend more on the same thing in a digital format: give us a digital version of every UMD game that we trade in.

So, in lieu of spending extra money or accepting that some games aren't available for purchase in digital formats yet, Sony should offer a deal. In it, they will, for a nominal fee, exchange a physical copy for a digital one.

For example, I trade in my UMDs, which includes Sega Genesis Collection, Metal Gear Ac!d, Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles and Ape Escape. And for those UMDs and a small fee each (about $50, assuming the fee is $5/UMD), I would receive all of them in a digital format.

This would encourage people to spend money on the PSP Go without fear of losing their collection of UMD-based games. So, in my case, I'd buy the $250 PSP Go and then turn around and spend $50 or more to turn those into digital versions. And naturally, I'd want more games and therefore would spend more and in the end, that's the better part of $400-450 of my money going to Sony.

Now naturally, some games would either be ineligible or cost more, such as games that aren't already in the digital format. I guess an estimate would be:

* $5 for games/movies already digital-ready
* $7 for games/movies that aren't digital-ready but will be in the future
* $10 for games/movies that aren't digital-ready and won't be in the foreseeable future.
