Don't you hate it when your games freeze?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I hate such games..it's like the developers didn't think about player's needs at all...

That's actually one of my favorite things about the MegaTen series. I hate playing RPGs and fighting wave after wave of goombas - with the MegaTen series, ya always have to be vigilante. None of this "Run around, get into a fight, and mindlessly spam attack until they're dead" bullshit.

Losing an entire memory card worth of data is worse.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

One time my brother went to a party with the PS2 memory card in his pocket. Some kid pushed him into the pool when he still had his clothes on so it ruined our only memory card. We weren't exactly green either so we had to wait quite awhile to play far into games after that.

there is few things worse IMO.

The 360 is the worst for it.

In the last few weeks heres the rundown of nearly bouncing the console out the window moments.

Resident Evil 5, brand new game, no one had touched it aside from me. Put in my elite. My cousing came over and we played it. Got to the boss where its the guy on the boat that changes into the big thing, watched the cutscene then it would display the disac is dirty or damaged message. Played up to it 3 times. Went roudn to my sisters house and borrowed her 360 stuck my harddrive in an dit played through the bit fine then was fine the rest of the game on my console.

Devil May cry 4, 4 or so times it did this, again new game but there was a tiny mark on it from new, brasso on a cotton bud sorted it though.

I then decided to finally play half-life 2 through, yes I know several years to late. So pulled the game out of the shelf on which the other xbox classics and fired it into the 360. I had never actually played it on the original xbox so had no idea what to expect but had played it on the pc. First thing was the terrible slowdown, I thought if its this bad on the 360 must be bad on the xbox. Played through until you get to the tunnel on the airboat where you go to fight the gunship. Woudl go to 4% loading then freeze. Done this a few times then played through from the start again. Same issue.

Pulled out one of the old xbox's stuck it in and played through it no bother, also no slowdown really,

So good i'm tempted to get the orange box and hope it makes use of the 360's power

Yeah I tend to keep my games out of the freezer these days. The soggy manuals are the worst.

I was trying to get vigilante missions on Vice City and I had to doit many times using Hunter and other means and it as like 20 min each. In one of the tens of times I used the tank, and after completing the mission I got like 5 star rating, so I was running away into another island when I got to the save point I decided I see if I can get a full star rating. As I was shooting it froze.....

Another time was when I had real trouble completing a missions where you had to kill those drug dealers and run to your hideout I die each time in some frustrating way. But at one time I was running on my legs all the way back, and after exhaustion and walking slowly with police shooting at me and for the first time I see the pink marker of the safe point it froze...Another time I was only killed next to it.

speaking of no save points, phantasy star online on the dreamcast. I really wanted to live the days I missed no, and I checked it out never played RPG before because I hate a lot of talk(game or novel?) and slow fighting system of choosing your next hit. So this was action RPG and with no talking so much as if there is no story at all! But after having very difficult times completing dungeons or whatever they call them I just quit. 2.5 hours into a stage with zero save points? If you die you have to go through it all again? If the electricity goes out or it freezes , you go through it all again? Not to mention that bosses are tough , I never had to fight a boss for 17 min before. I just stopped its not worth it

I think every gamer hates when a game freezes especially when you have been playing for good amount of time and no save points/checkpoints come your way... :x
