That's why I always unseal my stuff right away and test it out.corn619 wrote:Back on subject I keep my reciepts after learning a tough lesson. I bought Star Ocean and it was loose in the case and scratched the disc and ruined it. I didn't unseal it for a month.
Any one else keep the receipts from games they buy?

I will keep the receipt until I am absolutely sure whatever I bought doesn't need to be returned.

yup- i try to keep every single thing i walk away with other than the bag.
i have that same paranoia.J T wrote:I do this for awhile, especially with used games. I'm paranoid that I'll reach some point in the game where it will crash because of a bad part of the disc or something. I want to be able to return my product for a refund if that's the case.

I've tried to keep receipts lately. Like you, I dunno if something will crap out and I'll have to return it, but it's still something I sometimes unconsciously throw away as if it were part of the wrapping paper.
Saved my ass at least one time that I know of. (SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters DS - the earliest US versions have a glitch were a required line of text never shows up, leaving you incapable of finishing the game.)

I keep them behind the booklets for most games I get. Usually for warranty purposes, or so I know when, where and for how much I bought the game.

Good thing I never buy new games.

I keep all my receipts in the game cases, so if anything happends, they are there.
Plus, ill look back and think "WOW, i really got this back then, i cant belive its been that long"...

I've been doing this for about 12 years now. I don't know why. I stuff them in an accordian file folder and never look at it again.
Perhaps I'm subconsciously setting myself up for a self intervention, where I add them all up and see how much money I've poured into this hobby.
I will say that I LOVE finding receipts in the boxes/cases of used games I've purchased. It's fun to see original atari/intellivision receipts.
