Well, back in the day I played Rebel Assault 2 a lot when it first came out.... loved it. I have Rebel Assaut 1 on SegaCD, and boy is it grainy... I also have a burned 3do copy but havent gotten around to play that yet. But as far as FMV goes, this game has variety... and thats a good thing.

I'm pretty surprised Corpse Killer hasn't been mentioned yet. Well actually, It's as cheesy as they come, and pretty easy at that, but the so-bad-it's-awesome acting makes it pretty entertaining, at least. I have the 32x version, and I'm very confused as to what the Sega CD/32x combo version is. Either way, this game is fun.

Wow, loads of good(?) games here, I never realised there were so many and varied. I was originally thinking the FMV games would be limited to the Sherlock Holmes games and the lightgun games, which are of no use to me with no tv to play them on.

I'm pretty surprised at just how many interesting games this system has in general, I always thought it was very lacking in games. It was a total impulse buy but I'm well excited about finally getting my hands on one of these machines now. Aside from some of the more exotic hardware variations, my sega console collection now only requires a 32X.

There is an internet game/movie reviewer named Noah Antwiler or The Spoony One who has a good number of videos on his website. At one point he reviewed a bunch of FMV games from the Sega CD and PC and got into a decent amount of the depth about a few of them. Personally, I always thought "good FMV game" was an oxymoron, but he cited a couple as being quite well done; you have to dig through the videos to find out which ones because I don't remember, plus he finds some obscure games too. Overall, he is entertaining to watch.

Check out Johnny Mnemonic, Wing Commander (maybe), Microcosm, Sewer Shark, Make my Video, Star Trek Borg, and Power Rangers for FMV related content.

The 32x does offer smoother video but the audio remaster is often of worse quality (can't have everything!). Regarding your question the combo deal offered two CDs in the case, if you want to play the enhanced CD then you must first insert the MegaCD disc first.. I'm sure you know this already?

As for FMV games if it's not more of an adventure game (e.g. the Tex Murphy games) I just go to Youtube and watch the "movie" versions of the games.. Oh one more link!

Well thanks again for some interesting links - I'm sure I've bumped into the spoony experiment before. I seem to recognise his voice.

Anyway, I picked up the Mega CD today and it all works great. So far with the cash I saved on postage I've scooped up Cobra Command, Sol Feace, Road Avenger, Soul Star, Sewer Shark and Ground Zero Texas. I've downloaded SonicCD and Sherlock Homes vol 1 and as an extra bonus the arcade classic disk was in the machine. I have most of the games on it already bt Revenge of Shinobi seems pretty cool.

If you want good games with (bad?) FMV that is somewhat easy on the PC; if you want good "FMV games" that is trickier.

Good games with FMV include Wing Commander series, Command and Conquer series, and stuff like The 7th Guest.

chipperkwah wrote:Good call nateup, Road Avenger is definitely an FMV game, and while it wasn't exclusive to the Sega CD, IMO it was the best version. Plus, the intro song is RIDICULOUSLY COOL!
