I like Mario Sunshine, too. Might not be as good as 64 or Galaxy, but I thought it was a fun Mario platformer. Also, I think they did a great job on Galaxy with the music. The music from SMB3 and 64 really hits yeah when you first hear it.

You game Drac x and Yoshi's Island lower scores that MARIO GALAXY?!

..how old are you?
Haha I don't care it's just my honest opinion, and I really want to hear others thoughts. I knew I was gonna get a lot of backlash for how I feel about Yoshi's Island, but really the game just didn't do it for me. As for galaxy, I'm 23 and I love retro gameplay, but I was trying to look at these games objectively and I think alot of times we let our retro bias get in the way of appreciating some really good modern games. I really think that Galaxy is head and shoulders above both Drac x and Yoshi's Island and am curious if the rest of the board disagrees.
I haven't played Dracula X, but I do agree with the Yoshi's Island comment. I may be a pretty big retro gamer, a lover of platformers, and a bit of a recovering Nintendo fanboy, but for some reason I detest all of the 2D Mario games without exception.
Wow, I wouldn't go that far. I loved Super Mario World for the Snes, in fact I may even like World as much as I liked Galaxy. Playing Galaxy made me realize that I should probably give Sunshine another chance too, but I need to get a GC/Wii first.

Well how did you play Galaxy with out a Wii? Gamecubes are SUPER cheap now, by the way, if you wanna pick one up. I believe Gamestop sells them used for $30, and you can get them even cheaper than that.

I got my Gamecube shortly before Sunshine came out, and Sunshine was one of the reason I bought the console. I got Sunshine the day it came out, and I was disappointed with it. I stopped playing it, and eventually got rid of it AND the system (the reset button broke, drove me crazy). Later down the road, I got another Cube off eBay and Sunshine was one of the games that came with it. It wasn't until I reserved a copy of Galaxy that I decided to play through Sunshine, and I'm really glad I made myself do it.

It was probably my young self at the time Sunshine came out thinking something along the lines of... "THIS isn't Super Mario 64. What? That water tank thing never comes off? This game is stupid!" Like I said, I'm glad I gave it a second chance, because I really liked that game. It's just regular old 3D-Mario platformer fun. Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy are all on the same level as far as I'm concerned.

Any way, my rant's point is that you SHOULD give Sunshine a chance, it's a good game.

I think it's relativity well known as a rare miss in an excellent series (along with Simon's quest). I still think it's a pretty good game though, flawed, yes, but it's by no means bad. You should definitely play rondo of blood though, many consider it the best of the old school castlevanias.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

Agreed, It's definetly a different game than the rest of the series and the cleaning can get a little tedious but it's by no means bad. It's still an excellent addition to the series and I really enjoyed it.

... Though I would never say it's as good as 64 or Galaxy. I still consider 64 one of the best games of all time. It's about as close to perfect as you can get. Sunshine was flawed, and Galaxy was a little jarring at first, but form the get go EVERYTHING in 64 clicked. I honestly can't say I have a single problem with the game. Not one.

Well, I was living with a bunch of my friends and one of them had a Wii that he seriously neglected, it literally had a layer of dust on it. So, when I left the house to move in with my girlfriend I took it with me knowing he wouldn't notice(he's a really close friend known him since I was 4, I knew he wouldn't really get mad) but he recently bought Shaun White Snowboarding and demanded it back. I'd buy a gamecube right now but my girlfriend would kill me if I brought another console to our tiny apartment, I haven't been able to play my Saturn which I bought 3 months ago cause I got no place to hook it up.

Mario Galaxy was a pretty fun game. If you havent spoiled the end yourself, I wont tell you what happens but there is much more than 120 stars to get to really finish the game :D. And having lived through the retail release of EVERY major Mario platform game I can say Galaxy is my favorite 3D Mario... it is the only one I enjoyed enough to finish 100%. Mario 64 is great but I get so many stars and get bored and put it down for a looooong time, and by the time I pick it back up I want to start over. I dont think Sunshine is terrible, but for some reason I just cant get into it. I dont know why. While playing I have enough fun, there is just something off about the experience. Anyway I like Galaxy much more than Yoshi's Island... And (gasp) more than SMW. I think the SNES games were just way to easy.

Fuck that! With out mentioning what you're talking about (like people don't already know anyway, and like it's that big of a deal lol) 120 stars is enough for me. After that, its just too difficult to be fun, because of the slip-edge and all.

i thought the added difficulty made the game better.. Not all, but most of the game is pretty straight forward and easy... Making it just a little more difficult didn't hurt, according to me anyway.

Might just be the way I got use to playing... A lot of times I wouldn't keep my eyes on Mario, but what ever obstacle was around him. So when I was playing the 'harder' way, I wouldn't have my eyes on him and he'd slide right into something.
