pure luck? i've sent out tons of resumes and this is the first place that even bothered to contact me. from office jobs doing photoshop to a little supermarket clerk, i've applied to tons of places and this is the first one that gave me a green light. so, i took it. took me about 2 months to get this first callback too!

oh yeah, have you tried looking in the gigs section on craigslist too? i never knew, but that's all short term stuff. i thought it was for musicians exclusively because of the name, but there's all kinds of weird ways to make a few bucks in there.

I suspect it's a combination of the bad hair plus shouting at them through a megaphone.

I don't have a megaphone, and it's not my fault the humidity is bonkers right now.

And just like that, it looks like I got a full time job again. Did an interview this morning and I guess they liked me. Pays more than any other job I've had. 40 hours a week again. 9-6.

I gotta find a summer job, though I'm thinking I'll do something for the university, since I've got...oh bloody hell, five years experience working at universities, coming up on five and a half...

Anyway, I had to turn down a job I got at Gamestop a year ago. I threw all the game experience I had onto my resume to get an interview, and once I did, I ran circles around the guy talking about games. Then again, he was also one of the rarest things I've ever seen at a Gamestop: a manager who ain't a douche. It's a shame I couldn't work there, but it was too far away and I just didn't have time, what with grad school.
