Tenkaichi 1 is good, but it's piss poor in comparison to Tenkaichi 2 and 3. There are no transformations in game. (e.g. ssj goku is a different character from plain goku, etc. You can't go super saiyan while fighting)
It's a toss up between Tenkaichi 2 and 3. 3 is more polished, and faster. But people generally prefer 2. Personally, I prefer 2 as well because it has a much deeper customization. With 3, all the characters feel the same even if you customize them. 2 gives you more option for crippling/powering up the characters in order to create power gaps. Also, 2 has a much slower feel, which means melee is still a huge part of the game, whereas 3 can be played by two people just flying away and spamming beams and rushes at each other.
Super Dragonball Z is the best looking DBZ game for me, since it gets the look from the manga instead of the anime BUT I don't enjoy it. It's a solid Tekken-like fighting game, but it doesn't feel like Dragon Ball Z at all.
Thoughts on the first two DBZ Tenkaichi games and Super DBZ?
