I have a Twitter account, but almost never post on it (the posts are mostly in Portuguese anyway, so I reckon no one here would be interested). I liked it for the first few weeks, but it is a huge time waster. Reading blogs is easier, as they have a lot of information condensed into one post most of the time. You have to read loads of tweets to extract something worthwhile, making it less than attractive for me.

I do post a lot on my Plurk (in English this time), but it is less a microblogging than a microchatting service. Which is convenient for me and my friends.

I'd say I only twitter when I have something I genuinely think other people would find amusing or at least interesting, and I thought the argument against it was that it was people narcissiticly assuming others would be interested by the everyday events of their life. It's not everyday you see people having anonymous sex in a car park with the police just watching on, and that one about the penis showing was pure gold.

So what is the argument against it exactly?

I'd rather play video games. Are your tweets more exciting than them?

I honestly have never had the urge to tell anyone who cared something I just thought of at that exact moment. Plus, one of the guys who created it was on Colbert Report, and he came off as a total blowhard, which did not endear me to the service.

I love my Twitter. And sure, a lot of the stuff I say is just random crap that no one would care about except my friends, but you know what? If you're not interested in what I have to say, then don't follow me on Twitter. Simple.

I complain about stuff, talk a lot about playing bass, occasionally discuss video games, all kinds of stuff. Ive been using it since August of last year, and now Ive got about 1600 posts. I hate myspace and Facebook, don't have an iPhone, and am not really into the whole social networking thing, but I'm really Enjoying my Twitter.

And in case anyone is interested, my user name is futtigue.

What I find amusing is I know tons of people into this twittering and persistent... errr, what the fuck is it called, where you like post shit on MySpace and Facebook... bulleting, k.... bulletin posting. Yet these same people look at me and call me a loser for hanging around forums.

Hence my distaste for the damn thing.

That and I am far to verbose for a limited 140 characters including spaces. I mean come on... you all see me around here. Do you think I could fit ANYTHING into 140 characters? I've tried...

I've failed.

I'm pathetic.
