If the question is "why doesn't this work on the PS3" an answer of "it works on Live" doesn't help any.nateup2 wrote:Obviously, that is the topic at hand, genius. My guess was that PSN's inferior online system itself is the reason for your inability to get matched up for a game. I also have PSN (since everyone with a PS3 does), just don't waste my time with it too often.puke_face wrote:I'm not looking for one persons opinion as to which network is better between Xbox and Playstation, I picked the black box, you picked the green box, we are both happy. Just for once I would like to be able to discuss a game on the platform that I chose without being confronted about "my" network being better than "your" network, or the other way around. Its a gaming system either way, lets just leave it at that. AGREE TO DISAGREE!!nateup2 wrote:As for your question, I don't know since I do Xbox live. My guess would be that PSN is garbage. Back to the topic at hand...
It doesn't seem to be anything PSN wise, it seems more like its a game related issue. For what its worth, my psp does exactly the same thing on the same game.

it is hard to get matched up on PSN because the online is inferior (which would help contribute to "no one is playing"), which is what my response was, not "it works on xbox live"... genius.
Just because someone is offended by the response doesnt make it any less relevant. My response was just as reasonable as yours was, so I don't know why you are wasting my time, mod.

True, I did infer your "it works on Live" part, since you mentioned only having the 360 version. Still, my point remains. Your response was no different than if someone had a problem running Starcraft on their Mac and you responded with "Maybe it's because Macs suck."nateup2 wrote:is no more helpful thanMrPopo wrote:It's possible that no one is playing. My response, on the other hand, was more helpful, as I pointed out an example of a similar problem on a different game. And I'm not certain how exactly I'm wasting your time. You have no vested interest in the responses to this topic, so what compells you to read what I say?

It'd be the same after shipping though so don't kick yourself for it. I'm also regretting not picking up Virtua Tennis 3 when PS3 copies were still easy to find in my area.puke_face wrote:$11.66 on amazon man, i got screwed by my $15.00 purchase, lol.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:If I had a copy I'd go online and try to match up with you but alas no store in my area has a copy.
@ nateup2: PSN isn't like Xbox live in that it's a completely different system, also its a matter of how many people are playing online, and if t only offers local or regional matchups. Don't forget that SEGA has to pay for the server upkeep on the PSN ver. and isn't getting a handout from a company each month to keep you online. Also what Mr. Popo was saying was a perfectly valid point, people may have just migrated on to the next new game and no longer see an interest in playing the aforementioned games for the most part.

Re: Sega Rally Revo
Which all backs up my point - that the issue is caused by the inferiority of PSN itself. It doesn't really matter why. You have this reason and that reason why PSN is lacking but essentially you are really only saying what I did with more detail. Giving excuses why it is lacking doesn't solve any problems, either. I wasn't saying "nah nah nah nah nah, I have xbox live, you dont". I have both, so I don't care really... also probably why I didn't really consider these oversensitive types.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:It'd be the same after shipping though so don't kick yourself for it. I didnt say his point was not valid, just that it is no more valid than mine. Its apples and oranges fellas. Any of this "my little post was more helpful than yours" nonsense is really laughable with such petty and obvious roots.

Look Xbox live is really no better, think about it they're the same service with a different coat of paint, only you pay $50 a year and we play for FREE; so of course there are going to be benefits and drawbacks to each service.
Now can we agree to disagree please?

Re: Sega Rally Revo
While I was at no point trying to debate which service is better, your reason for equality is pretty funny. That is like saying that a Mercedes is no better than an '89 Escort, since a Mercedes will cost you more. You get what you pay for, simple as that. PSN does a decent job for a FREE network, but if you want to find an online game for less popular titles like Sega Rally, you would probably be better off getting the 360 version. This is really a simple concept and I find it pretty silly that anyone would try to argue that the FREE version is better or even equal, from a gaming standpoint.
If that is what you want to agree to disagree on (not really even sure why you said that since there is really no debate on which network is better), then sure. All I did was state the most likely reason for the problem. The fact that this developed into such a ridiculous debate was your making. Try not to be so sensitive.
Lets just get along

Wait, my fault? You're the guy that think's he's smart by answering a PSN question with an Xbox Live is better answer. It's because of people like you that I hate the 360 and Xbox Live. Snide comments and rude remarks will only get you so far before people actually get pissed off.
