Vampire Savior was the second Saturn game I got (First was Die Hard Arcade), and I still play it to this day. Makes the PSX's Darkstalkers 3 look downright lame by comparison (mainly due to awful loading times and missing frames of animation), and the Dreamcast's Vampire Chronicles has the sprites shrunk, losing some of the inherit beauty and 'OUCH!' factor.

As such, Vampire Savior is the best Darkstalkers to come to consoles. A must get, especially since if you look around, you can find it mint for about $10. (Have to really look around, there are some people that charge as much as $50 for it.) Also, beating VS will unlock an extra menu, that allows you to play the game in English.

If you like the Marvel Versus series and Arc System Works, then pay your respects to the series that started it all, and own the most overlooked masterpiece in Capcom's collection, overlooked even by Capcom themselves. Become a Darkstalker today.

Edit: I guess I should make some other recommendations...
King of Fighters '97
Guardian Heroes (cheaper as an import)
Puyo Puyo Sun
Elevator Action Returns
Real Bout Fatal Fury Special
Prikura Daisakusen
Jikkyo Osyaberi Parodius
Sexy Parodius
Magical Hoppers
Ninku
X-Men vs Street Fighter
Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter

Those are the ones that are pretty easy to get into, regardless of ability to read Japanese. Also, only basing this off the imports I own.

See my problem is I don't want to double up on games.

Example:
Elevator Action Returns - Have the Taito Legends 2 for PS2.
Darkstalkers - I have Night Warriers Saturn (US), Darkstalkers 3 (PS1), Darkstalkers (PSP).

But I learned my mistake when I bought MvsC for the PS1 because damn that thing was an abomination compared to the Dreamcast version. And so when I got XMen vs SF yesterday my daughter and I could stop even when the Laker game came on. And I knew the PS1 version, again, would be inferior to the Saturn version.

My point is I really am looking for Saturn imports that haven't been either updated somewhere else. I'm looking for must have's that you can only get on the Saturn.

Or better yet, pawn someone else's kidney.

Vampire Savior is much better than Darkstalkers 3 on PS1. Depending on how much you love your fighters, you will probably enjoy it much more.

Another great import pick, if you like shooters, is Sokyugurentai (Terra Diver). There's a PSX version but it isn't as nice. This goes the same for Thunderforce V. Better on the Sat.

Saturn Bomberman is cheaper imported than domestic and is the best Bomberman title around. It's also pretty playable without Japanese, once you learn to navigate the options screen.

I still say you should get Vampire Savior for the Saturn. Like I said, it makes the PSX version it's bitch by comparison, and Vampire Chronicles isn't even as sexy to behold as Vampire Savior on a big screen with S-Video.

I've always wanted to import Dragonforce 2. I'm playing another round of Dragonforce 1 right now as Fandaria... man I love this game. Another quality Working Designs Translation.

Dynamite Deka (Die Hard Arcade in US) and House of the Dead aren't what I'd call "Dirt Cheap", but they're substantially cheaper if you import them, and many consider those two as must-haves. There can be debates until the sun goes down as far as "THE BEST" Capcom fighter for the Saturn, but my favourite is Vampire Savior, although I also have a soft spot for Pocket Fighter. I can also vouch for Gokujyo Parodius Deluxe Pack.

I don't recall paying more than around $10 - $15 for any of these (although I could be wrong).

Groove On Fight
King of Fighters '96
Last Bronx
Virtua Fighter Kids
Vampire Hunters
Virtua Fighter Remix
Samurai Shodown III

Cyberbots is wonderful, though I enjoy all of these.
