I don't think you geniuses get it... your converter box is not getting VGA out of your Gamecube... at all... in any way. Are you really that confused? You wasted whatever you spent on your converter and didn't even know what VGA looks like enough to know that you were not recieving a progressive scan signal all this time.

Sorry but you need to face it... you made an uninformed decision and wasted your money.
No, I made a well informed decision and bought a product that satisfied my original requirements perfectly.

I needed a way to hook up multiple console to the only screen I have at my uni accommodation, a 17inch VGA monitor that I use with my laptop as a second screen. I did not in any way expect the quality of the signal to be increased, I just needed to get an image up on the screen. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the image, except for the 50Hz ghosting. ( :( ).

My question meant: Can you use a computer monitor with Gamecube?
It depends what you want. If you want a high quality image then you will need to make a VGA cable from the notoriously expensive component cable for GCN.

If you are just looking for a way of hooking your Gamecube to your VGA monitor regardless of image quality then any old VGA converter box will do. Just don't expect the image to be anything near the quality of what it is on a standard CRT TV. (if your monitor is an LCD and is larger than 640 x 480 native resolution then it will look considerably worse).

I just received my VGA Box in the mail. I promptly hooked it up to my Gamecube, and I'm very happy with the results. I've saved space, and I actually was surprised how good it looks! Plus, it sounds great coming thru speakers rather than a TV.

I actually didn't order one until a week ago. I had moved, and waited until I unpacked.
