Re: Finally borrowed a camera
So I did turn on all the lights in my apartment. I just don't need a lot of light, so I couldn't get much. I have a couple of coworkers who might be able to help me take better pictures, since they're really into photography.
As for the fancy switchbox, I take it you guys are referring to the one next to the PS3. That's a Startech component video switch, which as the Neo, the Xbox, and the Gamecube plugged into it. The Wii goes into Component 2 on the TV, so I keep Component 1 with the switch and 4:3 and Component 2 at 16:9.
[edit] Aha! Turns out the guy I borrowed the camera from lied to me. It wasn't already set to auto focus. I'm going to take some better pictures right now.

So I reupped the pictures, and took a bunch more. Some of the games are hard or impossible to make out, due to the sleeve really reflecting the flash nicely (discovered the camera has a flash as well). And several of the cased games are unsleeved, since they don't have anything on The Cover Project. I also still need to modify a bunch of UGCs for my NES games.

Damn you lucky bastard, you got a TE stick!
Seriously though, sweet setup you have there. I liked how you organized the stuff.

Do you use custom covers for everything (or almost)?

I am very impressed with the work you've done on your game covers. From which site did you download all those covers? Did you need more than one site. All the cover sites I use seem to have very few of the covers I'm looking for. How do you secure Gameboy Color games in Nintendo DS Cases? I bought a few SNES cases from Play-asia, and didn't care for them. Where did you buy your SNES cases? At first, I disliked your use of DVD cases for SegaCD games. Then I looked at how much space my SegaCD cases take up. Now I'm thinking about doing the same thing.

I really dig the custom Xenogears PS1!
Also, where did you get the cases for the SNES carts? I'm assuming they are the Universal Game Cases. I've been thinking about picking some up, but I'm not sure who to order through. I only need about 20. Will they fit Super Famicom carts?

I use a custom cover for anything that doesn't come standard in a DVD/DS case. It leads to a cleaner presentation overall. The big questions here are the Saturn/Sega CD, the Dreamcast, and the Turbografx, as those all come in their own cases. However, half my Sega cases are cracked in some way, so it's easier to keep them in DVD cases. And having the Dreamcast and Turbo games standing alone in the sea of nice slip cover cases felt odd to me. I still keep the original cases, though. Most of my SMS and Genesis games were bought loose, which is why I just stuck with the Universal Game Cases for them.
I picked up my Universal Game Cases from here. The site is a little misleading, as they list the unit price, but you need to buy in cases of 100. I picked up two cases of them and have about 50 that are leftover, so we could possibly work out a deal where I can sell them to you.
I get all my covers from The Cover Project. They don't have everything yet, but they have consistently had the best quality. I haven't been able to find any other sites that do covers (with the exception of a Neo Geo MVS Shockbox site), so now I'm just sitting and waiting for them to make covers for the rest of my collection. They also have a nice guide as to how to modify a DS case to fit a GBC game. In short, you remove the bottom of the GBA slot and the top of the DS slot. You can do this easily with a small knife. It is somewhat of a pain, though.

How do you print them? Regular printer?
I want to print a few covers, but I don't know how I can get the best quality without wasting ink. Do you use regular A4 paper?
