Are you a single or multiplayer kind of person?

Mostly single player. Multi-player games tend to be sort of pointless, while single player games can have great stories or make you feel like you're on a real adventure. Plus, I just seem to get more satisfaction out of single player accomplishments than multi-player ones. Getting S ranks on Panzer Dragoon Orta or beating uber bosses in Final Fantasy games are more rewarding for me than how high a kill count I can get in some multi-player shooter

I do enjoy some co-op gaming sometimes though, but pretty much only with beat'em up type games. I have little to no interest in competitive multi-player gaming these days so first person shooters like Halo and most fighting games tend to not be on my radar much. I have zero interest in MMOs. Again, they just strike me as pointless. There's no real end point for these games. MMOs just seem to go on forever, which is annoying

Personally, I'm rather irritated by the 360's emphasis on multi-player gaming and have been for quite some time, which is probably why I spend more time with the PSP anymore. What annoys me is that there is no balance. You either get a game with a big emphasis on the multi-player and a half ass single player(Halo 2 and 3 for example) or you get a great single player that has a crappy multi-player shoved in with stupid multi-player achievements just to please the big wigs at Microsoft(The Darkness comes to mind)

That depends on the kind of game. Fighters are always the best when playing multiplayer, but sidescrollers (unless it's a beat-em-up) are better in single player.

As far as most of the games I play, I prefer singleplayer overall, as I play for the story mostly.

It really does depends on the game and the people I'm playing with though. I play in a weekly Day of Defeat:Source game with a lot of internet friends and I always have a great time with them. However, the same game on a public server will make me pull my hair out.

I also play on occasion: Counterstrike: Source, Left 4 Dead, and Unreal Tournament 3 with a bunch of the same people and have similar experiences with those games.

I generally prefer single player. I really like just spending time alone and getting through a game. I guess that's why I like RPGs so much; somewhat of an interactive book (which is my other favorite activity). I do enjoy some multiplayer, though. With the right group of people WoW can be fun, and Street Fighter is great online. And I used to be big into FPS's online back in the day, but lately I've lost interest in playing them online. I think it's because now I would just be joining random server with a bunch of people I don't know.

i always wondered why they stopped making games where two can play together
to finish the game.
These games can be played multiplayer or single, but its a ton of fun when with family or friends
finishing the stage together than alone.
I like those multiplayers where you can see bother players on screen , not each on his own screen, I think this wastes screen space.

I think multiplayer cooperative is better than against each other like FPS,

but I do not mind single player games. Some can only be single player like Metal gear I guess.

I like playing single and multi player, but not online. Shmups i like playing 1 or 2 player depending on my mood, fighters definitely 2 players, and most other non-rpg games i like having someone over to play. Especially the 16 bit stuff; my friends love coming over for old genesis and SNES games.

multiplayer in the same area - local lan or split screen. I enjoy singleplayer games but having 8-16 people playing TFC or UT is something that is hard to top. I dont really game online, unless it is with college friends, I got burned out when I use to play TFC and the UT2k3 demo (granted that was 4-12 hours a day for a couple months).

This would probably explain why Okami just sits there but Gauntlet Dark Legacy keeps getting gametime.
