What if? Wolfenstein HD

Post by Reverend »

Is this a good idea? I think it would be a great idea to make this, due to all the FPS fans around now. What do you guys think?

I think he was talking about taking the original Wolf 3D and giving it the SSF2THDR treatment.

Yay!

But back to the topic: I think a Wolfenstein 3D remake with the Quake 3 engine would be cooler.

I disagree. One of the biggest reasons that Wolfenstein 3d is such a classic is the way it still entertains people after all these years. The Grandaddy of the FPS shouldnt get a 3d upgrade IMO just because it was perfect in the way it was presented to begin with. Technical limitations and such made it stand out in a world ready for something new. It should be forever remembered that way i think. They have done a good job with updated sequels to the franchise, but the original would best be left as is. Kinda like someone rewriting the old testament or something. It just wouldnt be the same.

That reminds me, did they ever finish translating the entire Bible into Lolspeak?

Hm.... i think wolf 3d could use some sprucing. I loved the game, but i always felt like it was a doom alpha. I guess playing through the greatness that is doom first ruined wolf 3d for me.

that said if it got the hd treatment... they better keep the sound. "MEIN LABEN!"
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

is there really enough story or character power of wolfenstein to deserve a remake? dont we have enough evil nazi fps' to last a lifetime? are developers really that lazy??!?!

now if your just talking about a revamp of the classic game, then yes, remake of the classic and throw it on a consoles arcade downloads. but please no to a whole new game with the wolfenstein name slapped on it. just my opinion
