Now that I have my force powers going, I can see why folks say you stop using your guns. I still use that sniper rifle for far away enemies, but just about all fights now consist of me using force speed, slaughtering everybody with a lightsaber, and then using force heal afterward to replenish myself. The biggest threats in mass combat are now dying Grans dropping thermal detonators at their feet.
To be fair, I found the shotgun type weapon (flechette or something like that?) to be highly effective atg clearing rooms using force speed. Some of the more dangerous corridors with lots o explosives were much easier that way. Otherwise it's all about the lightsaber though.

Yeah, at first I relied on the Imperial blaster on rapid fire to rush in and put a hail of lasers into stormtroopers or the Bryar pistol to charge up for long ranges or stationary targets. Now that I have the sniper rifle and the lightsaber, I see little reason to go back to those, though I haven't given the repeater much of a chance yet. The game feels like it was designed to be used with the force powers entirely, so the pure gunplay levels before I got the powers were rough. That said, I've used far more thermal detonators effectively in this game than I have in any of the previous Dark Forces/Jedi Knight titles.

I'm happy to see that LucasArts finally decided to explain Stormtrooper Syndrome with the Imperial blaster's terrible accuracy. I stood five feet from a guy who unloaded on me and never hit once. It was pitiful.

Completed MOH Airborne!

Dat last mission. A fully operational anti aircraft tower of harrowing proportions, with enough room inside to fit thousands of people. Of course this means a great chance to fight even more elite troops. I learned how to effectively used grenades throughout this entire mission, and the only upgrades were increased capacity. But when it was finally complete, it was satisfying to see it brought down.

For my next game, I determined that out of all the FPS I have, I can choose from 18 to play that are either sequels to games I've already played or the first game in various FPS series I haven't started yet. Therefore, I'm going to roll a virtual 18-sided die and the outcome will be my next FPS

The most terrifying thing about the last mission of MOH: Airborne is that the Nazis actually built those.

Or you could tell us what you have and we could tell you what our favorites are.

Getting my AvP on. It's interesting how the listing of the campaigns is in reverse order of their difficulty. The Predator campaign is listed last but is definitely the easiest. The Marine campaign is quite difficult, and has a really nasty final level (not counting the vs. Queen fight which is just a puzzle). But the Alien campaign; man that thing is brutal. I'm still stuck on the first mission because you die in a few hits. It seems like for the purposes of enemy fire they are targeting an actual Alien model, complete with huge head. I died to a goddamn pistol round fired by a synthetic while I was at full health because I didn't kill him fast enough. If you round a corner with a turret and you're not on the ceiling, you die. If the ceiling wasn't high enough, you die. I feel like AvP 2 had a much better balanced Alien campaign that played to the strengths of the playstyle, whereas the AvP version forces you to be elite to not be cannon fodder. It's kind of like what you expect TIE Fighter is going to be like when you first play, except TIE Fighter gives you a ton of allies to draw fire away from you. Playing cannon fodder entirely solo is extremely frustrating.

As a guy who only ever played as aliens in multiplayer for the various AvP games, the trick is to run. Always run. Always cling to walls and ceilings, always run, and always corkscrew your way in on targets. If you're not ducking, weaving, and spiraling down corridors to completely throw off enemy fire, you're dead. Also, take out the lights if you can.

Definitely solid strats for multiplayer. Not sure how well they'll work in single player, though. The computer likes to cheat.
