Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?

As a new user to Racket Boy I am sure I am going to get hanged for this, but I recently played through Goldeneye 64 and it is overrated.

I find most N64 games to be overrated; the gems are few and far between.

Goldeneye is a product of its time. There really wasn't anything else quite as good in regards to local multi-player death matches. There's still some fun to be had in that regard but we've moved so far beyond it that even its best aspects are kind of just a curiosity these days. The single player experience has aged like rotten eggs.

Even back then though I was way more into Quake and in particular Team Fortress but if you wanted a death match with a bunch of friends in the same physical space without resorting to a LAN party, Goldeneye was the way to do it.

That was a huge deal at the time. The controls are really the big hangup. I'd love to see a version done in the style of the PD remake I just mentioned.

Even my friends who have played hundreds upon hundreds of hours of the game still think this is the game's biggest issue.

BTW, wasn't there a remake of Goldeneye using the Source engine? Or am I imagining things?

I'd recommend giving the remade Perfect Dark a try on XBLA. It plays a lot better with dual-stick controls for sure.

It's out on XBOne now too, right? As part of that Rare Collection that looks like it could be the greatest games compilation ever (and it's ridiculously cheap too).

Trash implies that you hate every aspect of a game or you think it does something so egregious with it's design that you can't get past. With so many wonderful systems, excellent writing, fun and engaging combat, and beautiful scenery, I have doubts that you dislike every one of those things. It's fine for you to have an "unpopular gaming opinion" but if you don't detail why, what's the point?
