Let the Right One In
There is a 2010 U.S. remake called Let Me In as well. Wasn't spectacular, but had some decent performances.

"Decent" is forgiving. HAPPY GILMORE, BILLY MADISON. End and cut.

And those two films are only tolerable because they had a new take on comedy movies.

pixels is a very terrible movie that isn't worth a rental. There is not enough weed in the world to make it funny. Ya know the guys who made Epic Movie? Probably not as who cares? pixels is what epic movie is to video game character cameos wrapped with a god awful script that q-bert wouldn't piss on.

And spoiler alert! One of the "jokes" in the movie is that q-bert can urinate.

Unless you have been hit in the cranium several times with a rather large and heavy void object, avoid this like a Vietnamese mind field.

Which is more painful is up for debate.

I thought Punch-Drunk Love was pretty good.

But seriously how rich do you need to be Sandler? Retire already.

Happy gilmore and billy madison are just as stupid as anything he's done since. If you go back and watch billy madison, you really think that's better than waterboy or grownups? All of them are just as stupid as the next. None better or worse. And i happen to like them all lol. Except the cobbler, not sure what he smoked writing that.

I must reiterate this: I am NOT saying anyone should watch Pixels for the comedy. If you're going to watch it, watch it for the pixel action sequences. But I also must agree with stickem in saying the comedy in Billy Madison seems to be remembered as better than it was. It was just as juvenile and idiotic, albeit with a better supporting cast. Yes, Qbert pissed himself. So did a little boy in Billy Madison and the joke was Adam Sandler throwing water on his crotch and screeching how cool it is to wee your pants with the obnoxious Sandler voice he does.

See, but in Billie Madison it was a bit of a heartwarming moment because he was covering for a kid who did something embarrassing.

And The Wedding Singer is the best Sandler movie.

Punch-Drunk Love is absolutely a great film but I attribute that to Paul Thomas Anderson; Sandler was just an actor for that and was not involved with writing or producing.

I really enjoyed his earlier work when it was still somewhat current, but for my money 50 First Dates is his best film. It strikes just the right balance between the bong-ripping humor seen in his earlier work and the every man sort of dramedy he briefly diverted into with movies like Punch Drunk Love (which IMO was sort of awful) and Reign Over Me (which is better than pretty much everyone gives it credit for ... and is also still the best video game cameo in a Sandler film).

But enough about Sandler, how does Peter Dinklage stack up in Pixels? (That is absolutely not a dwarf joke BTW)

Yes, but it felt like a forced heartwarming moment to me, and still wasn't funny.

His acting is fine, but the writing for his character is awful. They make his character very unlikeable. (Which he's supposed to be to some extent, but almost all of his lines are cringeworthy).
