The game got a lot of negative press over its supposed unceasing tutorials and hand holding. That didn't stop me from buying it though.Kidpanda wrote:I'm curious what your unpopular opinion of Dream Team is

Dream Team is solid. Good, even. Just not up to the level of Bowser's Inside Story. And honestly, some of the stuff needed tutorials. It's a good thing there's a practice mode for the team-up attacks.
I'm cautiously optimistic about the next entry. I'm one of the few people that actually liked Sticker Star (more than Dream Team, even!), and melding the two franchises could either be absolute genius or give us the worst of both worlds.

Out of the nes trilogy of mario games. I prefer super mario bros 2. The levels are more lengthy and interesting. Plus being able to pick out of four characters is nice.
Metroid 2 is my favorite game in the metroid series and and I think the dark souls games are terrible.

I had no idea, I literally plowed through that game and was blown away with how much fun I had. I would play it around 1 to 2 hours each night in bed, my wife would even watch me play till she fell asleep. She said she enjoyed watching what she saw. I own Bowser's Inside Story but have never opened it. I guess it's time for me to do so and give it a whirl.Exhuminator wrote:The game got a lot of negative press over its supposed unceasing tutorials and hand holding. I think all 4 are decent games, but none of the sequels come close to the original Superstar Saga on GBA for me. It's in a league of it's own.Kidpanda wrote:I had no idea, I literally plowed through that game and was blown away with how much fun I had. I was considering buying superstar saga today after work, that one had always made me curious and would love to play it on the big screen.alienjesus wrote:I think all 4 are decent games, but none of the sequels come close to the original Superstar Saga on GBA for me. Superstar Saga gets a strong recommendation from me.

Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
As far as Mario RPGs go, I've only beat two. I beat Super Mario RPG on SNES back in 1998, and I loved that one. Then circa 2012 or so I beat Paper Mario on N64, and I enjoyed it overall, though it was too easy for my tastes.
At some point I put a fair amount of time into Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. I didn't finish it though. I remember the last part I got to was fighting a boss who was a hybrid of a hermit crab and a Christmas tree. I don't recall why I stopped playing at that point. I think I was just bored with the game. That's not to say it's a bad game, but the plot isn't exactly riveting and the gameplay is not challenging.
I own copies of Thousand-Year Door, Super Paper Mario, Sticker Star Saga, Dream Team, Bowser's Inside Story, and Partners in Time. But I haven't played any of those yet because life.

I actually LOVED Thousand Year door, Back when it came out I stayed up for 25 hours playing it, took a nap and then beat it the next day.

Now there's a testament to the GameCube system's quality of design and manufacturing.Kidpanda wrote:I stayed up for 25 hours playing it
