Most people are against HD remasters but damn i like the sound of new combat mechanics and alchemy system, besides adding more enemies, fixing framerate and more.

I really hope this comes to america.

SOTC is incredible and a monument of video game progress and creativity.

I recently had a conversation with someone who "hate's!" olives. I don't get frustrated with people not liking things I like, I get frustrated when people can't articulate why they don't like things they don't like.

I hate olives!

-Why?

I just hate them!

Like, all olives? Is it the brine? How about Kalamata olives?

-I don't know I just hate them.

----

That drives me cray. Vague reasons of not liking things are never a valid reason to not liking something. Unless you are talking about a person and don't want to hurt some feelings, as "I just don't like the person" is okay.

But "I hate walnuts" should require some explanation. "The controls suck" needs explanation as well.

If someone told me "Walnuts get stuck in my teeth, are a pain to shell, look like balls, create a mess in my kitchen and sometimes make my throat uneasy", I get it. But "I don't know! I just hate walnuts" is a terrible response.

That's not a remaster, that's a full remake. There's now platforming and stage hazards and it looks like a bunch of new moves. Seems like they're taking what they learned when making Muramasa and applying it to the storyline of Odin Sphere.

Now I'm just hoping that they fix the combat so I can either cancel out of long animations or enemies properly stagger.

A port is taking a game from one piece of hardware and making it work on a second piece of hardware. In olden times this necessitated some major changes because of differences in graphical capabilities. These days it's mostly just replacing system specific calls.

A remaster is a port that also includes redos of the graphics, and possibly some rebalancing of certain interactions. It technically doesn't need to be a port, but outside of the PC it almost always is. The game at its core should still be the same; only the window dressing should change.

A remake is a full redo. Characters and major story points should be shared, but everything else is fair game for change.

Not mine. Just a couple pics a local "antique" seller provided.

What are those? First time I've ever seen that on 2600 games.

Kind of like interchangeable ROM chips? I guess this is old school console hacking at its best. :P

It's because I get stuck in your teeth and make a mess in your kitchen.

It would be refreshing if someone replied with "Huh? Wait... Ya know what? Can't put my finger on it. I love salt, but maybe olives are too salty for me. They kinda look like eyeballs so that creeps me out too".

And I have plenty of friends who will say things like "Ew. Hate that" without any explanation, and I don't get upset but I do get frustrated when someone can't answer the question "why?" at all. Maybe I've found my pet peeve as if someone said "Hate Cilantro. Tastes like soap." I would say "I love it, but I get'cha". But when a friend says "I hate cilantro. I don't know why. I just do", I'm about to pull my hair out.

In retrospect plus moving forward, I hate having to remind my friends to keep all the toilet lids closed, as well as the door after they use one of my bathrooms. Exposed water is gross, and saying "Second door on your left" is classier than saying "Just look for the toilet down yonder on your left".

WHOA! Good find Henry.
