Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I seriously can't stand that entire series.
I hold certain gaming opinions that make me feel like I'm living on a different planet than everyone else. My thoughts on MGS are one example.
You know how Dave #1 feels about Shenmue? Well that's where I stand when it comes to Metal Gear games. Well, maybe I'm a tad less intense.
Metal Gear Solid 4? Laughably bad. Both as a movie and as a "game."

MGS has its faults but then again some mad fools replay the Ys games over and over. Strange world we live in.

I have a love/hate relationship with the series. I loved the first one to death. I am getting the new one because I liked the demo but I'm praying the cut scenes are kept to less than six hours apiece lol

You're not alone. I didn't like MGS2 either, and I was thrilled to be playing 3 so much that I ended up getting rid of it (or rather, trying to, nobody is buying).BoneSnapDeez wrote:I seriously can't stand that entire series.

The first one and VR Missions were great, though.
Also, Shenmue is worse.

I've shared this opinion many times here already. It's a series I was never able to get into.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I seriously can't stand that entire series.

But it's one of those things where I understand why it appeals to so many people, it just doesn't appeal to either my story or gameplay sensibilities.
Sometimes I feel awkward because a lot of games people hold up as the greatest games of all time (Zelda: OoT being another one) just never clicked with me and I have to hope people don't think I'm holding these unpopular opinions to be edgy or something because I really have given them many chances to win me over and they just never have.
At the same time there are games I feel are pretty much perfect that people have bashed to death, this year's Together Retro of Sonic 3 & Knuckles being a prime example, so everyone's got their own tastes and perspectives and that's a good thing since it means a continued variety in entertainment media. I mean, if we all liked the same thing everything would be the same thing.

I never got the OoT hype myself, honestly. It's vastly inferior when compared to the likes of Link to the Past or even the original Zelda.

Seconded, but maybe this convo should head toward the unpopular opinion thread.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I never got the OoT hype myself, honestly. It's vastly inferior when compared to the likes of Link to the Past or even the original Zelda.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I think it's one of the best 64 games out there but not at all close to the best in the series. I think the same thing about ff7.o.pwuaioc wrote:Seconded, but maybe this convo should head toward the unpopular opinion thread.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I never got the OoT hype myself, honestly.
